why are we arguing about whether or not Adele would headline? the eavii have specifically cast her name among a list of headliners theyd like to book, what more needs to be said :sarcastic:

quite, maybe itd be a more accurate sample of whether people who dont listen to metal will see metallica if we actually heard from people who dont listen to metal

Well apart from Tool I probably listen to a metal album like every 6 months, so I'm not exactly an avid metal listener.

I can't believe this utter pillock actually used "open minded" in a sentence. Does the moron even know what the phrase means?

Oh, and btw, if you're going to have a go at me for being insulting, feel free to take it to someone who gives a f**k, because I don't care.

i'm very open minded about music, i'll give anything a go and like/love many different genres. i'm also a hobbyist musician and play fingerstyle blues from the 1930s on my taylor, then experiment with house beats in logic and live.

i don't like metal though.

i won't have a go at you for insulting me, fill yer boots...says more about you, imo.

Honestly, i'm not a metal lover and i won't be going to see them should they be booked...

It's pointless being "open minded" because we all know what metal involves, people will turn up knowing what metallica do (which I'm sure they're very good at if you like them) i doubt people will turn up thinking it may change their mind, people will turn up and be unsurprised by the fact its metallica and that they're playing metal music...

As previously said, they're far more niche than beyonce or jay z because who are both mainstream acts, but good luck to them and i'm sure they will be just what the people who like them want them to be and that fans will enjoy it

I dont understand the whole 'Adele doesn't like crowds' thing. She's performed at the Oscars, at the Grammys, at the Brits, had a sell out show at the RAH, she even played festivals when she was starting out. She's hardly Kate Bush. I suspect she's just waiting for the right moment - and if we assume the next album is coming in the next year or so, I wouldn't bet against that 'right moment' being Glasto 2015.

fully agree....would be a good sunday night, with led zep on the saturday, and maybe foals on the friday if they come with another good album.

Adele openly admitted that she hates playing gigs as she gets too nervous, and had heart trouble after a Royal Albert Hall gig.

Was that the RAH gig in 2011, since which she's performed at the Oscars, the Grammys and the Brit Awards? If performing live gives her health problems she's got a funny way of dealing with it :sarcastic::girlcray:

Can see that, although if we're talking 2015 Fleetwood Mac are pretty much signed up already aren't they?

LOLZ

She blatantly doesn't like doing gigs. Talking shite doesn't change that. Although she's gonna do some gigs next year at the RAH. Some folk are saying a residency.

Some bands fell apart because they couldn't do stuff live. Maybe Adele feels she needs to do a gig or two to promote her albums. The talk was originally of doing a 20 night residency at Islington, but it'd appear they're gonna go for a big 'un.

In terms of when people could collect on their bets I would think bookies could quite easily hold on to their money til the act in question has actually played. Has anyone been paid out on their kasabian bets that'd be a good way to find out

Not me but yeah they have. That was Will Hill though so other ones might be different.

Indulging in some sozzled Bank Holiday weekend Metallica listening.

Now, I'm not going to go so far as to bellow "TAPS AFF!" about this, but I think I am (cautiously) looking forward to it...

That's the spirit!

I spent all morning on a bit of a Beatles marathon then moved onto Soul Asylum. What happened to them?

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
