I think the rumour and the name Neil was mentioning is a small promoter from the south West (who had something to do with a smaller festival in the area) and that guy would have known Jagger through a friend of a friend and would have contacts to find out about acts (Im being vague on purpose because I cant remember his actual name and Neil said we shouldn't be posting it)

There are 3 main problems with that though

- Mike never actually posted a rumour straight off his own back, it was either the day after a newspaper posted it or the day after someone else mentioned it.

- Mikes connections to Jagger that he posted to me and other people made no sense. It was purely "I go drinking with a friend of Jaggers brother and he pops in from time to time. One time he came in and told the pub the Stones were playing"

-He admitted to me and a couple of people on a thread late one night that he lied about his age and the 99 in his name was his year of birth (so hes 14)

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
