If it was meant to be an "intimate" tour why did they add dates according to demand and have some of the shows on the tour taking place more than a month after the album is released? What's the promotional sense in that?

It's an extensive tour of small venues, once this jaunt is done I reckon their next stint will be a very short academy tour, which isn't really NME sub level

New Peace dates:

Sep-24 O2 Academy 1, Liverpool
Sep-25 The Middlesbrough Empire, Middlesbrough
Sep-26 The Arches, Glasgow
Sep-28 Limelight Club, Belfast
Sep-29 The Academy, Dublin
Oct-01 Academy 1, Manchester
Oct-02 Rock City, Nottingham
Oct-03 Great Hall, Cardiff
Oct-05 The Junction, Cambridge
Oct-06 O2 Academy, Leicester
Oct-07 Pyramids Centre, Portsmouth
Oct-09 O2 Academy Brixton, London
Oct-10 Civic Hall, Wolverhampton

Surprised at the general size of venues, they can't always just play smaller shows, although Brixton suggests they are probably going to headline NME or play before a closing act potentially Edited by Mezhyp1

    • I guess we should also not underestimate that the Slowdive sound person is probably not quite used to open-air daytime performances in such a large, open area. 🙂 I imagine it's very different from mixing the sound in a tent. Plus, even though I was openminded about it at first - you never know how things might sound or work out in a different setting if you don't try - I just don't think their sound is very suited for this kind of setting, it really benefits from darkness and a nice light show and all that. Still, nice that they got to give it a try.
    • i agree, was really disappointed by the Slowdive sound (we were fairly close to the podium) also if you consider that for all other main stage acts i saw they got it perfectly right.
    • Thanks man for sharing your thoughts. I would say i generally agree with you and do agree people close to the podium should position themselves further back if they want to have full conversations and apparently are not interested in the music; to fair it is mind boggling these people are even there as chatting gets so much easier in the back field. That said i did not really have the same experience as you, front rows for example at MBV, Men I trust, Big Thief, NewDad, Slowdive, where really into the music.    yes i BBK is really high on our list but we just realized it is next year 25 years of Primavera so perhaps we do one more.
    • When does the Thursday lineup get announced? I see they had Moonchild Sanelly and Young Knives last year, would be cool to get something along those lines again.
