Saw The Vaccines on the first gig of their tour last night. Really good and their new stuff is also sounding very decent, assuming we will see them at a decent position at R&L next year if their new album does well? Surprised they aren't playing this year to be honest.

From the moment Zane said 'Why are Run the Jewels so low' I had an feeling they'd move, but I agree with Dental here it seem as bit odd putting them above Peace. I think it has been done to bridge the gap from Peace into Run the Jewels. Strange how a band that quite a few on here were talking about headlining NME are now the 4th from last act on the stage, Peace have been done a bad deal here in my view. But I'd assume they have more crossover fans with Alt-j and Bastille so it is probably a good thing for festival goers.

Peace and Bastille fans I'd say were similar so that'd be a bad clash

I really don't want Catfish to clash with BMTH, I'd rather they clashed with Royal Blood cause I've already seen royal blood

Catfish will clash with the start of Metallica if they stay where they are as Metallica will play 2 hours.

Clashes can be argued from either side; if the artists are different it'll split the crowd by preference, and if they're similar they'll prevent overcrowding on either side. It's dumb

They do try avoid clashes a lot more now with closing sets and early stage closures.

I'm presuming the FR stage is closing early again, my plan is to watch most of Djnago Django and catch most of Knife Party after it. Watch all The Wombats and get to see the end of Metallica. And squeeze in as much Frank Turner as possible before The Libertines start.

Edit- I said presuming, I meant hoping.

That only happened once last year and that was Band of Skulls would have been playing against Arctic Monkeys so I wouldn't presume that it will happen again this particularly for The Wombats but you may get lucky with Frank Turner. I say it is best to say that a stage isn't closing early unless R&L confirm it

I think the only night it will close early this year is gonna be Libs night, to me timing Frank's set so he can effectively be a sub to many Libs fans and was the case with Band of Skulls/Arctics at Leeds last year.

I think Wombats/Rebel Sound/Metallica will all clash as I don't see any them sharing that much of a fan base for there to be major complaints.

And on Mumfords night it's hard to guess where Django are gonna play tbh. They could close the stage before Mumfords as there would be a fair crossover but in my view if leaving Limp-Knife/Mumfords/Wilkinson as the headline options wouldn't be all that popular. I'd guess they'd put them on as Limp are playing, and fans would either catch the end of Mumfords or see Knife party.

Although all that was just guesswork

Has anyone here seen many FR headliners? I think someone said Palma Violets last year were surprisingly fun? Only because I'm considering seeing Ash and The Wombats on the Saturday for the nostalgia, instead of Metallica who I only saw last year at Glasto.

Would leave me seeing no main stage or NME headliners at all. Which is not great value for the ticket price, but hey ho.

Saw the top two of Savages and British Sea Power last year and it was great. That's the only time I've seen an FR headliner, but I wish I'd seen Crystal Fighters the day before.

I saw Palma Violets last year and they were probably the best band I saw all weekend, so much energy within the band and the crowd really engaged with the set

I saw about half an hour of Crystal Fighters in '13 after Green Day but apart from that I haven't seen any FR headliners before now.

But this year the FR headliners look better than both the Main Stage and NME headliners on their respective nights (in my opinion laik).

Saw the Midnight Beast headline the FR (the only time) & it finished at the same time as The Strokes as far as I can remember.

Saw CHVRCHES in the FR tent as I'd seen Green Day at Brixton two days before but that's only one of two full sets I've seen on the FR stage

Might see Manchester Orchestra this year although I'm worried I won't be able to get in to the tent for Refused
