Hey everyone. I've been lurking for a while and posted a fair bit to the ORF forums before that was absolutely destroyed by spam. Anyway, as far as suggestions go, would Brand New headlining the NME stage on one of the days be completely out of the question? I know they were booked 5th down on main before they pulled out in 2013, but with a new album this year I feel like they'd probably be able to. Can someone tell me I'm not crazy?

They're probably nowhere big enough for NME headline, maybe the Pit/Rock stage whatever it is. Or booked again on main stage.

I'd probably say they're too big for the pit then which rules them out of a dark slot. Shame really, they're great with the right atmosphere. Seems like we're all fairly sold on Royal Blood playing pretty high up though.

Well JEW headlined lock up, and Of Mice & Men the pit I reckon they're about the same level. Though their tour this year sold really quickly. I can't really gauge how big they are because I don't see much talk about them anywhere.

I'm a big fan of Brand New as well, but they were pretty disappointing in Manchester this year, despite opening with a NIN cover

They're a difficult one to place, but with the Lock Up/The Pit headliners this year I'd say that is probably right.

Considering Of Mice & Men are only just getting big enough to play the Bristol o2 (my local) and Brand New sold out Southampton Guildhall in April I'd say they're probably a bit bigger. I dunno, the JEW type set would be amazing as far as I'm concerned though.

I bet this new guy is actually dentalplan pulling a Gazza now he can't come back after his Greg Davies cock up.

Oh sadly not, Greg Davies being my uncle would be great.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Royal Blood supporting Foo Fighters on all their US dates? Meaning they won't be at R+L next year

R+L is 28th to 30th August next year so Royal Blood could be back in the UK in time for that :)

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
