Lady Gaga's huge popularity and you have failed to acknowledge this?

What of it anyway? Not trve and kvlt enough for you and your ultra masculine Linkin Park?

I thought it was only popular with the same 13 year old girls that listen to one direction and Katy Perry - my bad - it must be great....

The new Gaga album is pretty good actually. I like Sex Dreams, the one with R Kelly on it & the single that's been out a while.

She knows how to put on a show, too.

Can I rescind those birthday wishes? I expect shit like this from the hipsters but not from you.

I'd like to put it out that I don't do the thing where you "like" major pop artists because you can't be a proper hipster unless you defy hipsterism with some ridiculous selection.

You're always one step ahead of the 'proper' hipsters anyway :D

:(

To be honest I've always said I have a broad music taste- I was subjected to everything from Rage Against The Machine to Kylie Minogue by my dad when I was growing up. I've had to listen to A LOT of pop for the student magazine (I spent hours listening to Rihanna for one article :P) and Gaga is one of the best I've had to deal with.

That's not to say I'm a proper fan, I just don't detest her music like I do Disclosure/Chase and Status/fucking Blink

How can someone detest Disclosure? I don't personally like them much but I find them too inoffensive to harbour any hatred towards them.

I mainly hate the hype they get/have. I find it totally unfounded.

Its exactly the type of music I dislike though.

(Detest is probably too strong a word, admittedly :P)

Saturday looks fine. But I don't wanna see Metallica ever again even though it seems plausible. Pretty sure Florence & The Machine or The Black Keys would take the Friday spot. Maybe both.

Not a bad line-up, though id swap Enter Shikari and Frank Turner. FT's playing much bigger venues than ES have done. Assuming they both have new albums before then.

I also cant see Arcade Fire still touring in 2015, Reflektor will be almost 2 years old and they never seem to tour for that long, especially now Win and Regine are parents.

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
