Franz Ferdinand

Surely they must be likely next year? I would absolutely love to see them, one of the few bands I want to see who I've never got round to.

Surely they would either sub the Pyramid or headline other?

When they headlined the Other stage in 2009 I decided to watch them over Springsteen & Jarvis Cocker....how disappointing they were is an understatement.

The first half of their set was ok (ish) but the second half was worse than boring.

If they were to ever headline one of the stages, I for one would head in the opposite direction.

Oh dear that doesn't sound positive.

I've been revisting them in the last few days and I feel like in time their stock will really rise. I would say that them and the Arctic Monkeys were the two British indie bands which emerged in the 2000s who will still have some sort or artistic integrity in the future.

I think there's a good chance they'll play next year, but no chance as headliners on the big outdoor stages.

As a personal preference I'd like to see them headline the John Peel (I think they're better in the dark and in a tent), but any potential slot might depend on how their new material goes down between now and then.

I'm off to see them in Brixton next month. I haven't seen them since that '09 performance either, so I'm looking forward to it.

I still think Franz Ferdinand would sub the Pyramid. Primal Scream headlined the Big Top at Bestival and headlined the Other Stage at Glastonbury in 2011, so placing at other festivals doesn't play that much of a part....Plus they're friends of the Eavii having done a secret slot at The Park in 2008.

Oh God, I always feared this day would come, 2000s indie music will become sufficiently far in the past that it'll be cool and alt for greasy looking 16 year old pricks to like. They'll scoff at their lesser classmates in school who are listening to current music, their informed opinions on bands like the Fratellis and Snow Patrol will be vastly superior to those of an old coot like me, I was too square to be in the indie scene when proper music was made. They'll wear their retro Topman drainpipes with their retro Topman cardigans and retro Topman Pidgeon Detectives t-shirts, hunt down original vinyl pressing of classic Kooks LPs and queue up for those much-coveted tickets to the Hard-Fi reunion gig while claiming their favourite Kasier Cheifs track is an obscure b-side to score indie points.

Well I got lost in my own tangent, I quite like Franz Ferdinand, not loads but there's nowt wrong with them.
