Im not so sure. For the younger generation i think the stones would be a bigger draw than led zepp. It depends in the age dynamic and the other acts. Its a bit crude but if you asked average joe in the public to name rolling stones songs and led zepp im pretty sure stones would come out on top.

Led Zep, while obviously massively popular, are maybe a wee bit less of an instant, crowd-pleasing concern than the Stones, I'd reckon. If people found 10 minutes of Midnight Rambler indulgent they'd have a conniption at a 30 minute long run through of Dazed and Confused.

They'd probably be applying anyway. However it would sidle them all off to the Pyramid for an evening! Plus since they were all the way over there, they'd be right at the back of the queue to get into the SE Corner!

It felt very special at the time but ultimately I think Stones will have been more of an "event" so to speak. I think Macca headlining was very important to the festival.

Meh, that would be very underwhelming. I'd see The Stone Roses (but that's more due to the fact that it will hopefully be my first Glasto and i'd have to see a Pyramid header) but that sounds like a good enough mix between genres and ages to seem very realistic.
