chic.

but everyones opinion is different! for some people it could be a tiny band on a stage in the greenfields, thats what makes glastonbury so great, it is different for everyone and people value different parts of the fest differently to others.

focusing solely on the main stages is somewhat short sighted and something I think this forum suffers from in general.

I'd say it's clearly going to be the Stones. For some reason a lot of the regulars on here seem to have got really blasé and forgot how big a deal it is. They'll be the main subject of conversation in the build up and, if they're decent, after. To the outside world it's still big news.

Hardly blasé, it's just that they are at the very top of my list of bands whose music I never want to hear again. I do accept that booking them is a big deal and I will quite understand if they pull a record crowd - in fact, as I was with U2, I'm hoping they do. U2 disappoint in so many ways.

I don't understand this thread at all - is the idea that a popular band will be unexpectedly good? Obviously, unknown bands cannot have much impact as there will be few people in their audience, whilst big bands suffer from the weight of expectation. Is the OP asking which hugely popular band, who everybody expects to be mediocre, will actually be entertaining? Odd question.
