Think it is likely one of the circuit bands will be in the mix as exclusive. KOL with a new album, Reading unavailable after the 09 debacle and V this year they must be a strong possibility. Who knows? Maybe their album will be a return to form.

Fleetwood Mac seem very likely given their comments in recent interviews and the fact that they said they'd be playing European festivals this summer...which they clearly aren't. Glasto was definately on their raydar.

Why would it be any different to what the Stones did? Arena dates (all be it less) in late 2012, festivals/big outdoor shows in summer 2013...

Perhaps Fleetwood Mac plan on arena dates late 2013, festivals/outdoor shows in summer 2014. Or maybe you're right & they'll just disappear again, but I wouldn't rule them totally out.

Maybe Glastonbury were waiting for an answer from the Stones before saying yes to Fleetwood, and Fleetwood had either the US tour on the table or the possibility of a Glastonbury slot.

Yeah, which is why Mumford ended up doing instead I believe. Mumford seemed to be a last resort for them, and I think it was 'cause they didn't know how much cash they had in the coffers while The Stones offer was on the table.

I certainly know of 1 band who were asked to do Glasto this year and they said no.

Now the arctics were booked fairly early apparently, and the stones were always wanted so I would guess they were wanted for the Sunday spot (as we're Fleetwood mac apparently), so for me Mumfords were certainly a back up option
