William's Green Stage

Today, Tribes and Parlour Flames (Bonehead, him out of of Oasis) both self confirmed for William's Green stage at G.

Whether the area is new or not is another thing, as it's apparently been there since 2009, but Glastonbury themselves say it's new. I believe the stage is new anyway.

Anyway, I came across a band called The Rainband, and along with self confirming, they said:

"Glastonbury - so many have asked!!!

Proud to announce we play the William's Green stage with the likes of - The Vaccines, Palma violets, willy mason, Tribes, Savages and Everything Everything.

Play Friday & we are there all weekend through.

Let's Go Glasto!!"

Something along the Queens Head type vibe?

Ah I thought this might have got picked up on, as I said in the other thread....surely just like the queens head of yore? Maybe even the same position? ...Though if it has the vaccines, it must be a little bigger this time and that whole area will be redesigned?

I hinted at this on another thread but didn't go into details as I wasn't sure how public it was.

Not sure of the exact layout/location, but apparently the stage will about the same size as the Avalon - so similar to the old Queens Head, but I believe with a slightly less intense flavour.

If I remember correctly, William's Green is next to the meeting point. This was the area where the Queen's Head was in 2009 & 2010 (after being moved from near the Other Stage). I can't remember what was there instead in 2011. So yes the Queen's Head is essentially back.

Let's rejoice that this year Glastonbury seems to have more stages than ever before! (Can anyone think of any that are missing?)

I "think" this stage is located roughly where the old Leftfield tent used to be.

Also playing this stage on the Sunday are Department S (Is Vic There ?) at 8pm followed by The Beat. Sounds like it might be a themed night along the lines that Leftfield used to do.

So that's my Sunday night sorted !

Friday is looking to be the strongest day at the moment.

So far the pyramid lineup is ace, I'l probably spend quite alot of time at the pyramid on friday, more time at the other stage saturday & sunday. Going to be loving the john peel stage this year!
