Bring Me The Horizon headlining 2nd stage one day. Knife Party headlining 3rd stage one day.

Although maybe Nine Inch Nails will think twice about subbing festivals after R&L this year.

Sonisphere was awesome, the layout of two stages playing one by one really worked well and meant you could see leads of bands without having to wait an age between Sets, looks like Soni is dead but would be great to see other festivals pick up the mantle... as for people saying about headliners, would rather see A7X headline than Nickleback, sure Chad and the Kroegers have some catchy songs but when it comes to jets of flame, and feel good rawk A7X have it.

also, LOG headlined BloodStock this year, why couldn't they headline Download? or if RATM are still doing any gigs they'd be spot on... there are plenty bands court there, just hope they choose the right ones.

The issue I found with the soni system was that if you didnt like the band on the main stages there was virtually no alternative. Sure the standard set up means you have clashes but I still prefer having the choice personally.

And LoG are absolutely nowhere near big enough to headline Download, its about 7 or 8 times the size of bloodstock.

his quote of never too early makes me laugh when he was like pissed at soni. did he kinda drop a hint they might be one? it'll be 2 years then didn't metallica in the uk lol and might be the only fest that couldget them in on a greatest hist set and get away with it, that said i'm not expecting it to be, i think they need more if a7x and nickel are the other two

    • Ah, that is interesting and ruins my theory a bit!!   I think my point just about holds though, and coming full circle on this discussion, being a sizable band such as Muse and not being able to sell out two O2 dates very quickly or at all doesn’t fill me with confidence that they be able to do a decent job selling a stadium tour…although maybe if Muse do something about their pricing, maybe they can!
    • I’ve said it elsewhere too but Emily Eavis said a 2028 headliner was booked, to me that’s only going to be someone the size of Oasis or Taylor Swift
    • Christ didn't even see that!
    • It does feel very bland. It would certainly spell another year (my third, I think) away from Pyramid headliners for me. That doesn't mean they aren't worthy, though. I don't follow what any of them are up to, as it isn't my thing. Good luck to them.   You would think coming off a fallow year, they would want one big hitter. 'Big hitter' is obviously open to debate, but that was/is Madonna. Let's have it right. The eggs have gone in that basket, and it seems (as far the rumours go) that it's blown up. So now you're left with another plan B/replacement headliner.   I'm still of the opinion that Oasis will do it, before the Oasis thing is all said and done. Probably 2028, if they can come to an agreement. It may transpire that 2027 is bland (or at least to some of us), and 2028 is a bit... wild.   Again, though, none of us categorically know ANY of the headliners, as it stands.
    • Second go.....    Still f**king fantastic - Well done WIlliam Orbit -  Bugman & Trimm Trabb mega tracks - No Distance Left To Run hauntingly Beautiful
