At Leeds the crowd was full of yoofs just waiting for the Strokes and talking all the way through. They'd have been better off in the tent. They were great - the crowd was shite.

There is a touch of Arcade Fire about them. Everyone in the know knows how brilliant they are but as for a high billing at a festival its a no no. Ask your average punter to name one National song and they will struggle. One hit wonders generally go higher up the bill at festivals which is crazy given the National's rich back catalogue.

I saw them at this gig at Leeds and they were great.. I was right at the front though. I can imagine at the back it would have been full of annoying kids shouting over it!

played third down at Reading/Leeds, and although i hear their reception their wasn't the greatest (although that says more about the Reading/Leeds crowd than the band themselves) i think fourth down at Glastonbury is fitting. they can't go below Professor Green / Rita Ora / whoever the fuck. they just can't. i'd say the only hope of them playing is fourth Pyramid or secret slot, because as much as everybody keeps saying 'but the placements aren't set in stone' etc, every other place they could play (subbing/headlining Other, headlining JP, headlining Park) are all taken

clutching I know, but are 7 acts really going to fill the Pyramid from 11am - midnight, even with a massive Stones set?

Edit: nevermind, in 2011 there were 8 acts on Saturday and Coldplay had 1h30, the Stones will get closer to 2h30 it seems.

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
