Oh okay, i didn't realise they were. But yeah, i hope it's not them. Their first album is incredible but they would really be underwhelming if they were announced.

Hit and miss live. And i can't imagine their new stuff will be too great either.

their new stuff is gonna be ridiculous. i'm actually really excited to hear it just because i can't for a minute fathom what it's going to sound like. but yeah, no to them headlining. if they were gonna do it it should've been this year (or 2012's nonexistent Glastonbury). as it is, they've milked their reunion, and nobody's going to give a shit about their new album a month after it's been released

it was always going to be a problem reuniting with, let's be honest, one album that anybody cares about under their belt, and one album that flopped massively. they're now stuck in somewhat of a predicament as they can either continue to play all their old songs that everybody loves but get the reputation of has-beens, or play a bunch of new material that nobody wants to hear. they don't have enough material to pad out their setlists or do interchanging set lists

The stone roses are a complete joke of themselves, and I personally hate them.

They just need to hurry up and retire forever, their coachella set was pure comedy!

If Glasto was held in 2012, they would be 100% one of the headliners, however it didn't happen, so the ship sailed. Them headlining in 2014 would be something I would not like to see.

watched stone roses at Benicassim last year. Really enjoyed even though Browns voice is shot to bits lol.

The guitarist (john squire???) is phenomenal

just feels like as they have played a few festivals and shows here and there now, if they get a glasto pyramid slot would it be that special?? doesnt seem much exclusivity around it

There seems to be a great selection of seemingly semi - realistic chances for next year.

Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Daft Punk, Fleetwood Mac, Prince,,,

okay, maybe not all of them are realistic...

but all of them could happen and all of them would be awesome.

if they've got a new album in the works i can't see them bowing out that quickly (although has there been any word on the new album as of late? i know they talked about it a lot upon reforming but seems to have all gone quiet)

i think the organisers will realise the time to get the Roses has gone. it's a shame their reformation didn't coincide with a Glastonbury festival, as everybody thought they'd definitely be making up for their '95 cancellation, but oh well

although it's probably said every year, a lot of the less-realistic ones (Bowie, Daft Punk, Fleetwood, Prince) seem more likely for next year than they ever have before (both Bowie and Daft Punk finally releasing new material, Fleetwood reformed, and i believe i read somewhere that Eavis said Prince wanted to do it? although i might've dreamt that...). so whilst they're all still probably unrealistic and won't happen, now may be the time. hopefully efests will stick to their comment on announcing who they think are the three 2014 headliners after this year is over, so that's something to get excited about

You never really know who's touring till next year really.

But their three headliners are already three who were asked;

Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Lady Gaga are my guesses.

Arcade Fire - Said No because of pregnancy and new album.

Radiohead - Said no because Atoms For Peace, and hiatus.

Gaga - Said no because of Hip & Late arrangements with tour.

Bowie - Said No.

Saying that the Stone Roses only made one good album is harsh. Second Coming is a brilliant album in itself - incredibly underrated.

Impossible to tell who will headline next year. Loads will change between now and the the new year.

Anybody remember seeing something in the paper about Take That mentioning they'd headline? It was something along the lines of them assuming one day they'll walk up to Michael and go "Hi, we're ready to headline now" and he'll pay them a shit load of money. I laughed all the way to work after I read that.

i'm sure there's a good shout of t'Roses headlining, all things being equal. after 1995 and all that..

i thought they were excellent at Heaton Park, but i hadn't listened to them in years before and haven't listened since. a good day of nostalgia, but without new material i don't know if i'd bother again.

Hmmm, is this from the Eavii? Or what Neil said about them having verbal agreements with acts? Cos I'm still a bit sceptical whichever one it is.

Michael especially always comes out with 'they're all booked' every year, and I don't believe that these 'verbally agreed acts' will end up headlining, as a lot can change.

    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
    • Shambles. Transport and comms garbage. Been looking forward to this since last June and have never been to a more disorganised festival in 30+ years.  Why we were told the whole festival was cancelled for the night if they had put back shows for a few hours?  Pissed off to say the very least and put a huge downer on the rest of the weekend.
    • Rotten communication. Actually god awful. Posting sporadically on IG, closing Mordor only to reopen and cause some serious carnage. Left the festival as it got too much for my 16year old daughter. She was devastated about Alex G and Mac…but TV girl could have saved it. Took us until 1220 and already home to find out they might/are playing. Pish.    and on another note, this festival has lost its bastard soul. Gone are the wee tents with local sellers selling vinyl, t shirts etc, now you can buy a 50 f**king eur official T-shirt. The ar*e is truely out of this event now. I went to Porto for the first time last year and it was fab. I love Barcelona and the line up is always stacked, but this festival is a corporate loss take. Hopefully a better day tomorrow.
    • f**king horrendous and seems they couldn’t run an egg and spoon race.  zero info and the crush waiting to get in to see Massive Attack was potentially disasterous. Zero info, no stewards at all and was told that the whole evening was cancelled, when we got to the exit. Because it rained. First time attendee and i’ve got onsay, i’m far from impressed. Scalping bastard taxis asking €37 plus for an €11 fare too. Wonderdul.
    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
