I'd guess it's less likely that he will now.

I would say its more likely than it was back in 2001. A lot of rap artists use live bands these days as the demand for more of a live show has increased. Jay-z had one in glasto, snoop and dre used one at coachella this year featuring eminem.

Hopefully eminem will follow suit.

Rappers have always used backing bands, its just easier not to, and cuts down costs massively.

I'd have slightly more respect if he changed it slightly so he could do it live. It's part of the reason why many people go see live acts, as it's not exactly the same as the record. (I guess you could make an argument, why record it like if he can't do it live to..)

I've seen rappers and hip hop acts that actually make an effort live. De La Soul were definitely the best of the bunch but a fair few others impressed, including Jay-Z who I don't particularly like.

People might dislike him but Kanye West puts 110% into his live shows. Eminem's always come across pretty lazy on stage, and it's obvious he doesn't enjoy it.

Yeah Kanye and Jay-Z were fantastic live, brilliant stage show and didn't use any backing tracks from what I could see.

Kanye is one of the artists I most want to see live. I agree, he gives it his all every time. Even at the Hurricane Sandy show the other night, the sweat was pouring off him (might have something to do with his leather leggings and skirt though )
