On paper that's the weakest England team in my living memory, but there's a lot of players on there without scars from previous tournaments and having their first international platform on which to shine. Saying that I think it'll be 2-1 to France.

I hate the booing of anthems, completely disrespectful in my opinion. I remember once hearing the luxembourg anthem be booed by welsh fans because it was "god save the queen", completely stupid. Good positioning by Lescott but awful marking, I have a feeling the french defence could be their undoing in this tournament.

I'll take that.

Pretty sure they did the job Roy sent them out to do. Its not necessarily a good platform for the tournament, but its a good platform to get out the group. If they can, and Wazza can have a good game against the Ukrainians then we might be able to have a pop at the quarter final.

Thought Johnson was fantastic. Really starting to look like an old head in that England shirt now

Im surprised many were predicting an easy France win, its not been that kind of tournament so far. The first group matches tend to be about not losing more than winning, there could easily have been 5 draws in the first 7 games. I do think the media (probably in france as well) are in danger of underestimating the other 2 sides. From memory ukraine dont lose much at home and sweden are no mugs. If either get a win today, they are only 1 win from the qf and will fancy their chances against 2 sides with obvious flaws.

Why would we have lost the game? That's in no way certain. They aren't infinitely more talented than us and we have a very good back 5.

Not saying it was a bad result, just I'm amazed if anyone thinks that the negative approach was the only way of approaching that game. Roy has done a cracking job at lowering expectations. Now we've gone from vastly overestimating ourselves to underestimating ourselves.

While the media were underestimating Englands talent this morning, they are overestimating it if they feel they have nothing to worry about from Ukraine. I think I read that Ukraine have lost only a couple of competitive games at home in the last 10 years, so to assume that England and France will have an easy ride because most of us arent familiar with their players is a mistake in my opinion. Im not certain ukraine will go through, but they have an excellent chance and with only needing 2-3 points to go through I think they are slightly more likely to qualify than not.
