It seems such a waste to have them this year. I know they're popular with the download audience but they'll only be more in demand next year. Having three metal headliners will surely rule out so many people, it put me off going. Obviously there are other stages but for over £200 I'd want to be excited by least 1 big money name.

Just read deftones toured with system in america this summer, makes serj more likely i suppose, they are also touring with scars on broadway, they could be there aswell. However i think if SonB and Serj were both there every man and his dog would claim to know about a secret SOAD set

Impressive set of headliners, and I would bet on it selling out next year, but it kind of sums up download as a festival. There's no diversity, it's either out and out metal/ classic rock headliners, or dance acts frequently played in rock nightclubs. Guessing they must have thrown some serious cash around at the headliners.

No they didn't say it was definite. But they must have been 99.9% sure for them to run it as a story on their homepage. Efests gets lots of false claims from people all over the place with regards who is playing festivals which is why they take care before they publish anything. The fact this story was leaked from Vodafone is probably the main reason they printed it. You would have thought that Vodafone would have been a pretty safe source.

which is exactly what we thought (along with everyone else).

They've 'leaked' names before of festivals they are partners too, and have always been correct before.

So there's a reason why they were wrong this time, and I doubt it was because they guessed who the headliner was themselves.

Would Download really feed them false info? I'm not sure Vodafone would appreciate being made to look stupid in front of their customers.

Thew whole things just feels very odd.

The whole thing defo feels odd.

I'm not sure if Download would feed them false info, but they must have got that info from somewhere. And just as I think they wouldn't appreciate being fed false info, I think just as much that they wouldn't put out info they couldn't be sure of.

    • Primavera refunding day tickets which are probably a negligible percentage of attendees yesterday.
    • Thursday day tickets being refunded. Fair play.
    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
