I think Biffy will be a very poor seller. Obviously they're a small headliner, but with the extensive arena tour around March time, will there be much demand at all to see them headline R&L? I'm going on the tour and will see them at Leeds, but they wouldn't draw me into buying a ticket at all.

Do R+L ever budge on exclusives? I can't be bothered to trawl through records. I'm sure they've had a non-exclusive at some point but it's how often I suppose.

Apparently the info for Mumford at V isn't that strong so I still think they're possible for R+L. I think they'd sell far more tickets than Black Sabbath, especially with rap and another rock headliner. None of my friends are remotely excited about Biffy - Sabbath - Eminem, and we're the biggest target market. It doesn't make sense for FR to book Sabbath. I think they'll go with either Blur or Mumford, blur if Mumford are at V and vice versa if not.

I think Biffy was the risky bump. Mumford are ridiculously popular and would probably sell far more tickets than most possible headliners right now, especially to us kiddies. I know they're almost universally hated on this forum but they're almost universally loved in 15-18 year olds. It would make a whole lot of sense to get them.

If Biffy are headlining then I'm there for the day, at least. Only taken them 11 years from first appearing at the festival to headlining it!

Biffy are something of a weak sauce headliner, no weaker than MCR though, FR can excuse bumping them up by having Blur or Mumford in the other slot. Two mega names (Eminem + Blur/Mumford) means that they can easily afford to bump Biffy up while still keeping a strong-looking lineup.

Rules me out of going next year then, saw Biffy at Leeds 10, Soni 11 & Download 12.. Bored me each time, really don't see the appeal to them

Can't stand them myself, incredibly boring band. Don't see how they're going to flog £100+ day tickets, with their own tour still on sale.

I think Biffy will go down well with the R&L regulars, just doubtful they'll shift a lot of day tickets- Eminem is probably the opposite of that.

I wouldn't have thought they'll bump Mumford up as well, Blur would be awesome.

Blur would be awesome! Also agree they the only name being mentioned that fit and at the same time make the headliners seem strong as a set. Them subbed by Jack White would be the dream. Wonder if they will get a bigger sub to go under Biffy as on paper they re quite a weak headliner and the size of there last tour will mean a hell of alot of fans will of already seen them earlier in the year.

Maybe the Sabbath talks fell thru and Biffy where second choice? Seems odd they try and get 2 acts on the heavier side as headliners these days.

Depending on when the announcement is some of the shows may have already been and gone. Once the album comes out I reckon the remaining tickets for the tour will soon follow. Plus fests are not just about the headliners not many would normally buy for a headliner alone.

Day tickets i would say the headliner is obvs the main selling point. However the headliners together mean about as much as the undercard when i consider which fest, Need at least one headliner i wanna see myelf. Think disliking all 3 headliners would but quite a few casual ticket buyers off going, certain people will go to certain fests every year no matter the line up, and its the causual punter they are trying attract.
