You don't want to be our Mayor?? :(

Anyway...it's a sad day when YM@6 are selling out quicker than Jack White ...a sad day indeed for music.

Anyone whose seen him live on his solo tour will you tell you, he would be an amazing headliner.....and interest would be high, the casuals would go for the white stripes songs he puts in and with an hour and half/two hours maybe could put in a few more than if he subbed! I don;'t he'd get any less of a crowd than the cure?

I think this is sarcasm, but you could imagine New Order subbing, however it does seem like they're spoilt for choice with possible sub headliners next year e.g. Biffy, Mumfords, Bloc Party, QOTSA, Vampire Weekend, Noel Gallagher could all do it

Agreed, although I think if they played it would be lower than I've done on there! Somewhere below The Used, maybe?

I'm going to see InMe tomorrow night actually; for some reason they're playing this small local venue that never usually has any well-known bands. Seems kinda random that they'd do a show there of all places.

I can't see how they're going to top this years set of headliners for me. If we're discounting Green Day and the Roses then Blur and The Killers are probably the best semi-realistic options that would appeal to me, anything else that's been mentioned is pretty depressing. Can't think of a third decent headliner that's realistic but Biffy, Jack White and Soundgarden would be three strong subs, although Mumford, Noel Gallagher and Vampire Weekend would be more realistic.

    • Brazil's first half was genuinely dreadful all round, not just the midfield, so they're absolutely not bulletproof. Whether Scotland have the quality to take advantage is a different question.   Tbf, that's as much on Morocco looking good, which I did think was a possibility. They could be a bit annoyed with themselves not to have scored more before Vini's goal tbh.
    • Surely nowadays with so much data analytics available on every division in world football and so much awareness that people aren't suckered in on the basis of a decent World Cup game... right?   Although tbf, from what I saw, Australia's game plan worked very well. But that was as much thanks to Turkey blowing varying opportunities given they created enough chances but couldn't finish, a la what happened with Switzerland against Qatar when they really could and should've won by 3/4 goals.
    • I missed Viagra Boys for a good spot for Gorillaz. Was a nice weekend and festival for me. Would definitely come back, if the line up is right. Get back home safe everyone.
    • The Last Temptation - new Heaven 17 documentary film directed by James Strong. Premiered at Sheffield Docfest this weekend.    I really enjoyed it. Affectionate, insightful, and honest. A nice mix of archival and footage, interviews and clips from the last tour. Martyn and Glenn are like an old married couple.   Plus a snippet of news from the Q&A, Martyn is recording new BEF material, and Phil Oakey has collaborated on the one of tracks. The film shows them meeting in Fagans for the first time in over 35 years.
    • Glad I’ve still got it booked off for my 50th
