2013 Lineup

Seeing as their last album was a bit of a flop and struggled to sell out their arena tour, is there any chance Blink could sub-headline to Green Day? After all, we already have SOAD as a non-headliner this year.

I know it's not to everyone's taste but a lineup like this would suit me just fine:

Green Day

Blink 182

Deftones

Biffy Clyro

System of a Down

Fall Out Boy

(I know nothing about rap so don't know who could fit under Eminem. Knowing how they've placed bands previously will probably be someone like The Vaccines)

Eminem

Snoop Dogg

Dizzee Rascall

If arctic monkeys are headlining the friday for glastonbury, is it really unlikely they will play reading?

I'm going to glasto this year instead of reading, and what made me excited was that the arctics were playing an almost exclusive glastonbury set which may include guest acts? but if they are doing reading aswell... it just means it's another set.

I really don't get this sort of attitude, it would take nothing away from the actual set you get to see, you'd still enjoy it exactly the same. They're on tour in June & doing festivals all over Europe, so yeah Glastonbury is just another set.

That said, they won't play R & L this year.

It is unusual, but I'd say dizzee pretty much confirmed with that retweet, some of the lower down acts are also pretty much confirmed: willy moon, peace, palma violets etc.

I'd also be very surprised if at least 2 of yeah yeah yeahs/vampire weekend/bloc party/dizzee rascal didn't play (and also very disappointed), ideally yyys, dizzee and vw could all play, i'm less sure about bloc party though, they wouldn't take anything but a subbing slot, and with their current popularity would be a weak sub.

To be honest I'm still holding out for a massive shock announcement, ideally arctic monkeys taking a massive u-turn and headlining on the sunday, with biffy on the supposedly "heavier" friday.

I don't think Bloc Party would feel that way to be honest, they don't strike me as a band that would demand a place, they must know their stock has fallen.

I think R&L are a bigger fest than IOW, so i could easily see them 3rd possibly 4th. Or even Top two in the tent, I can't imagine they would only be doing IOW this year. With them not announcing V they have to be at R&L.

I saw Bloc Party at the Ritz in Manchester last year, amazing gig. Didn't mean they couldn't have played a bigger venue had they wanted to though...

They're subbing IOW & have a good history with R&L, I can't see them dropping below sub headliners to be honest. Especially with so many bands knocking around that could potentially play the 3rd spot.

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
