eFestivals
Bestival probably try to use the bespoke meaning, ie it is especially designed for its type of festival goers. so all festivals are "boutique" then, and it remains meaningless in the festivals marketplace. I've actually been thru this with Bestival's PR. Even he ended up having to agree that it was a laughable and meaningless use of the word. BlackHole2006
Its excellent. Again. Need to sort my life out within the next month or so and get a sodding ticket. Everyone from mosca to mf doom to sigur ros look like excellent bookings all round. Im surprised rob da bank manages to get these acts on exclusives, crazy. Must piss r+l of off a load. kaosmark2
from what you're saying and the experience you seem to want of them, then if I were you I'd definitely swerve Bestival as the place to see them. I like Bestival a lot. The crowd in the main suit the festival, and it works very well. But Rob's bookings - which in my opinion are fantastic - are often too diverse for the sort of crowd it attracts, and end up being mostly wasted on an awful lot of them, who want to take pills and dance to bleeps, or who want to see the sort of acts they'll hear on daytime mainstream radio. I've seen some fantastic and rare bookings attract just handful of people, but most of all I've noticed the look of confusion (mostly soon followed by an exit to elsewhere on site) about some VERY famous acts on so very many of the crowd. It saddens me.
kaosmark2
Imagine Radiohead after Sigur Ros and New Order Saturday headliner. PULP would be magical, if they headline instead of Florence on the Friday, much happiness will be had.

JC-Mo'Fucka
Tdcc subbing the main? Seems a tad high. Will they have a new album by then?
JC-Mo'Fucka
I'm not sure it would really. It's a different demographic of people isn't it that R+L try to market themselves towards? You won't find many Punk bands at Bestival but the difference between it and R+L is that a Punk band wouldn't be out of place at Bestival as, say, Rizzle Kicks or Chas & Dave would be at R+L. kaosmark2
Have we got any idea as to the headliners? I'm impressed that Sigur Ros aren't booked as one.

zeppelin
And that's my ticket bought! Absolutely buzzing! I was always gonna be going but that's a hell of an announcement!
rexclark
Well looking at the line up so far I'm looking foward to, Sigur Ros, Justice, Two Door Cinema Club, Hot Chip, Soulwax, De La Soul, Sister Sledge, The Horrors, Spiritualized, Gary Numan, Adam Ant, Chas & Dave, 2 Many DJs, Annie Mac, 2 Bears, Jaguar Skills and DJ Yoda. I can't say I've been so excited over a first announcement of a festivcal in years. So much quality and so much variety and it's only going to get better, As for headliners I'd say Florence is nailed on, probably will get announced next week. I'd imagine New Order will be another one, which leaves the last one and I really couldn't guess who it'll be.
saints15
After missing out last year, it's an announcement like this which makes me desperate to go this year. How much are tickets do people know?

Homer
They're effectively £200 as you have to pay £20 for the ferry too (plus you might want to buy a programme too to get the set times).
rhubarb
I think the headliners are going to be very hard to guess as it really could be anyone from a long list. I dont think florence will be there, dont know why just cant see it Robdabank said a while ago he had booked 2 legendary headliners so it does sound promising. i'm sure ppl can add many to the list be here are my guesses Radiohead - amazing but cant see it as too big/expensive Pulp - possible blur - possible Beck - not touring at the mo but i think fits the bestival bill Flaming Lips - Possibly not quite big enough / maybe bigtop Bloc Party - getting back together would fit perfectly Chemical Brothers - touring Bestie boys - touring Vampire Weekend, Florence, Mumford & Sons all not bigger enough or good enough but i'm sure their names will be mentioned David Bowie - Dream
Joe-
Rob said on the podcast that there's headliners to be announced but they're not who we think they are. Which probably can remove all the acts like Daft Punk, etc. He is one to not trust though, he said Bjork wasn't going to play but she did. It's a tad expensive, but if you think about all the acts (200+?!) and entertainment he gets, it's really worth it.
kaosmark2
Surely Bloc Party would do Reading, they haven't played in 3 years!
BlackHole2006
Cannot wait to see Jeffrey Lewis and The Junkyard, this is a fantastic tune: http://youtu.be/OqWmGjD6aRI
gooner1990
Soulwax, Nero, De La Soul, Spiritulalised, 2ManyDJS, Orbital, DJ Yoda....and that's just from a quick glance. Looking forward to it already.
