As I recall, last year the dance tent contained a very high number of toddlers and babies in prams. Which is not a bad thing

I think we might camp as close as possible to it. Then James can dance the night away and I can give him the occasional wave from the comfort of my sleeping bag

I don't recall any sort of queue at any time last year. Doesn't mean there weren't any of course but I don't think you're ever likely to encounter something you'd call horrendous. Relax, it's not Glastonbury you know. :D

it makes me laugh - a lot - how festival goers hunt around the various weather sites to find the best one they can, and then that's the one they post.

It's almost like they want to believe that by picking the best one they're controlling the weather.

It's a shit if the weather is bad, but there's sod all anyone can do about it. :(

I'm having to miss out on Bearded this year as I am off tramping in Knoydart this weekend but just a wee note on weather sites. As a keen hillwalker i've found www.yr.no to be the most reliable out there. Although it is in Norwegian there is a button to get an English forecast and it will give you a forecast for just about any settlement or large hill in the British Isles.

Just got back , I was up packing my tent away at 4.30 am this morning , so that I could make sure I was in work for 9.00am and not rushing.

It was good , a mini Glastonbury.. With the exception of the dance tent , a lot of the acts were not really my cup of tea , but I enjoyed them all - Jack Rabbit Slim in particular , and every

act I saw at The Waters Edge Stage always impressed me.

Astralazias cover of "I Feel Love " was a perfect end to the fesitval , shame it shut down early on Sunday evening , not used to ending a festival with a cup of tea and an early night !

Any slight negatives - Mate got cash stolen out of his wallet whilst comatose in his tent - but hey thats not a first for a festival , sound being turned down in dance tent ,

Oh and the portable sound system was fab - Porta Party was it ?

Peace and Love

'I feel love' bawled at the top of my voice.......for all my new festival friends.

What a brilliant weekend. Still buzzing.

Unpacked, bathed and washing machine on, but in my head I'm still in our camp at BT.

Hope you all had/are having a good trip back.

Just back from Bearded Theory and have popped on to give my verdict. I have been critiacal of several aspects of BT over the past couple of years but credit where credit's due, The team have done a superb job and BT 5 was a reflection of their hard work. Fantastic music to suit all tastes and more kids entertainment than you can shake a stick at. Lots of happy smiling faces tucking into great grub (Stewed & Baked wouldn't accept my scottish money btw so won't be buying from them again!). Loos were clean and restocked regularly, beautiful site and friendly helpful staff.

On the down side there were lots of tent robberies and maybe increased security presence on the Friday night and basic awareness raising when folk arrive would have helped but that is no different to any other festival. I know lockers were available on site but they don't suit everyone.

All in all a superb weekend with lovely festival family old and new. Bring on next year!!

I got back earlier today, had a great time, met a few nice folks off here and saw loads of bands.

Special mentions must go to Terrorvision, Urban Voodoo Machine, Hobo Jones, The Selector and The Travelling Band who all delivered great sets.

A shame about the robberies, I could here a few people waking up on Saturday morning to find their tents had been raided but it didn't seem to stop them enjoying the rest of the festival so well done to them for not letting the scumbags ruin their weekend.

All in all I sang, I drank, I danced my wellies off. A great festival. Well done to the organisers.

15 minutes or so of it. An amazing tune, what a way to end the set! Slightly trumped System 7 even.

Alas got myself robbed for the first time at a fest, usual story as above, nonetheless surprised that the thief would put their hand into my trouser pocket as I slept in said trousers. Just the cash gone. Live and learn, and it happens at all fests now first night. No idea whether security was good or not, but there's only so much they can do.

In better news, DaveMac lost his wallet first day but it got handed in, money intact.

In other better news, first time I'd gotten a Beautiful Days vibe from Bearded since it started. Enjoyed so much of it, nicely done to all who organized it.

dampener on a great weekend.

Terrorvision, 10 pound suit band, dreadzone all smashed it.

Absolutely brilliant festival, it went way better then we had even hoped with our kiddies with us. They loved every minute of it. We didnt get to see many bands, but we really didnt mind, we'd had so much fun in Angel Gardens anyway :D

We're definitely going next year :D

Great weekend, blurry in bits (as per usual...)

Thieving scum - I made sure that I told my friends and surrounding tents not to leave ANY sort of valuables in the tents, especially on the first night, as everyone feels that they are in this semi utopia and do let their guards down.

Band of the weekend for me: System 7 (from I vaguely remember).

I will be back for this next year!

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
    • Yup and they aren't cheap   Glastonbury is different though, it's a place that will pack out for rarities they don't usually see. Download strictly speaking shouldn't be the strangest place for Avril to pop up of she had been a touring artist of longer times over the years.   Avril and GC would get the same billing for me and GC are selling arenas out quicker than Avril sold Ally Pally. Bearing in mind she'd pnly done soem Brixton dates before.
    • Avril gets above GC on rarity (see Cypress Hill this year). She drew in something like 70,000 at Glastonbury, so much so that they had to close the field off. I’d wager that she would get the biggest crowd of the entire weekend if she was to play DL.
