I have said why not, if you bring in technology to correct a minor problem, do you really think it will just stop there and there won't then be pressure to increase its use to deal with more major injustices which happen far more often.

I just don't see the comparison with technology for other sports. I admit I'm no expert but does any sport use technology for something that happens so rare. To me a team scoring when the ball hasn't crossed the line is no more unjust then a winger dribbling the ball just out of play then crossing and the striker heading in. That could easily solved with technology and not disrupting the game, but as far as I know there is no call for this.

I just don't get of all the issues wrong with football why hone in on such a minor one. To me the advantage of a ref getting one or two more correct decisions a season are not enough for me to justify the demand to increase its use which I believe would follow.

Bbc reporting bale will consider his future if no champions league football next year for spurs. Surely that means he is probably off to man city, can't see where else he could go, unless he fancies trying his luck abroad.

The major difference with this one is that it can be corrected without any pause in the game whatsoever. As technology develops and there's ways of doing this for the other decisions I'd be all for technology to aid refs. However there is only that technology for goal-line decisions. It's just backward not to use it where we can.

Spurs honeymoon might be over then. Manager off. Best players off. Could be tough for them.

Surely if the technology can be used for goal line technology, the same technolgy could pretty easily be adapted (same principle in terms of if a ball has crossed a line) to see if a ball has gone out of play, yet there doesnt seem to be the demand for that and Im pretty sure there are as many (probably more) goals scored from moves where the ball goes out of play before going into the net as goal given when the ball doesnt cross the line.

Wow. What a first half! Most of the games for the teams from about 7th to 14th dont mean a lot and it creates some exciting stuff for MOTD!

We've been fucking dire. This is the 4th time we've conceded 4+ goals away this season, and easily the worst of them. We've got no excuses, our only 1st choice player injured is Steven Taylor and he was crocked by Chelsea back in November.

Williamson's been awful today, considering his relative height compared to Moses there's no excuse for losing that battle for the header. Krul was a bit out of position for Di Santo's goal, and that's the first time I've been able to criticise him this season, surprised he got beaten for Maloney's as well, although I'm not sure he's at fault there really. Santon's probably been our best player and he's been poor defensively.

I'm quite concerned by our switching systems to match up with Wigan. Last time we did that was our 5-1 defeat at Fulham, and we haven't got 3 solid centre-backs to play a back 3. Guttierrez and Santon can play defensively, but trying to cover the wings on their own in a system they're not familiar with is a big ask for naturally attack-minded players.

Cabaye and Cisse have barely seen the ball, Ba's been off-target both times he's had a crack, Ben Arfa's trying his tricks but they're not working atm.

What most concerns me though is our pressing game. Most of the season we've been really good off the ball, but today we've been poor right through. Noone's looked like they'll be able to take control and pull things back.

Commentator's are saying we came back against Arsenal last season, but that was at St James', against 10-men by the time we got our first. We might get one or two back but I think it's more likely we'll concede as many more as we score.

Today's performance aside, I'm quite concerned that Guthrie's not on the bench again. Supposedly he's fit, but he's not been picked for a while. Suggests that he's said he'll leave this summer and we're saying he won't play in that case. Was really hoping we'd be able to get 25 games out of him next season between injuries + rotation with a Europe campaign.

Macarthur's started the 2nd half like he was playing all through the first. A cynical foul that's not quite a yellow on its own. I'm surprised by how much I've seen that from Wigan today.

I had a feeling liverpool would win today, I think at this stage of the seasons the likes of norwich and swansea are the perfect teams to play.

Ruddy is the most over goalkeeper ive seen in a long time (Rob Green Numero dos), I watched the game for all of 1-2 mins when it was 2 nil, and i think Suarez had a header, Which being harsh to Suarez' wasn't a rocket, just a looping one, but easily save-able, and he just watched it hit the bar!

Tevez Vs. them too was ridiculous too.

For me though, i'm happy today! Jelavic is just bargain of the year (w/Vorm from Swansea), he's amaazing, him and Fellaini provide a belter of a partnership.. and i'm exceedingly excited for Wolves and Stoke next week.,

I think ruddy has done a decent job in the premiership this season, which has amazed me as we had him on loan at wrexham 5 years ago in league 2 and I thought he was poor and his loan wasnt renewed. Jonathan walters and Neil Taylor also didn't set the world alight here and now playing regularly in the premiership. Really hard to predict which players can make.the jump, must be a tough job scouting the lower leagues.

Oh Ruddy's shit, but to be fair the shot was about perfect. Of course you can do better but it wasn't quite as bad as the Sullivan/Harper attempts at saving Beckham/Alonso's efforts!

All in all that was a good MOTD. Really good games. Favourite moment (apart from Suarez!) was definitely the Stoke fans and Wenger. Love it when there's genuine humour from a crowd!

All in all that was a good MOTD. Really good games. Favourite moment (apart from Suarez!) was definitely the Stoke fans and Wenger. Love it when there's genuine humour from a crowd!
