I don't know much about how Roy managed at all those other clubs, I just know he was completely the wrong man for Liverpool.

His style of play was bad enough but some of the garbage he spoke in post match interviews was astounding. He was an embarrassment.

Well it has to be an English manager apparently. Who else is there? Woy is the most qualified.

I guess (or should that be hope) that by giving Hodgson a 4 year deal they're trying to make sure that there will be a real changing of the guard in terms of the "fools golden generation". GIve him a 2 year deal and effectively he knows that if he doesn't get instant results then he's in trouble. All this does is mean he goes with the tried and trusted to ensure we qualify rather than backing him to take a few risks for the long term good of the team.

Once our media convinced everyone in this country that the utter lack of technical and tactical ability of our players wasn't the reason for our consistant failure in tournaments, but the lack of an english passport held by the manager, then we were left with little choice. Whilst I don't think Woy is a great manager, he's the best of the choices available. Harry is a great motivator, but tactically he's nowhere near the level required for top international football IMO.

I have a feeling though that Harry has a plan. Get Woy do the changing of the guard, get his media mates to slaughter him for it, and then take over with someone else having taken the flack for the doing what had to be done anyway.

I wouldn't have minded seeing them going for Pardew personally. At least he'd got some momentum behind him which would have got some motivation out of the players. I don't think you necessarily have to be a top class organiser to win internationally, I just think you have to be able to motivate players and inspire them. Harry, although vastly overrated, probably had that for some reason. Not sure Roy does.

Though those two incidents are particularly bizarre. What's the logic behind Anton? Do Chelsea fans think Anton Ferdinand doctored the footage of Terry racially abusing him or something?

Dunno what Woy's football is really like under WBA, and it was woeful at Liverpool but he got Fulham playing some great stuff. Was a really neat pretty passing game - scored some great goals in Europe from it. Not a long ball in sight. Think our third goal in the 3-1 win over Liverpool sort of tipified it. It took him 18 months or so to get us playing like that though. The most amazing thing he did at Fulham was U-turn our defence around so quickly despite the shambles Sanchez left it in.

I dunno if he'll be great as England manager as he might be iffy dealing with all the egos and whatnot. But Capello pretty much had the same problem and I think anyone else would. Overall I'd rathered 'Arry just cause watching England vs Algeria was the absolute worst thing I've ever seen in football in my life. Under 'Arry I doubt we'd ever see a game like that - even if we might not win... as great as Woy was for Fulham I can see us drawing 0-0 with Sweden or something similar.

On the other hand I don't think there's a better English manager out there for figuring out a way to beat sides like France, Italy, Germany, Holland who are simply better then us. Unfortunately I can't see us winning the group with Woy and then pretty much pairs us with Spain...

I don't hold out much hope for Chelski fans to be honest. In the space of 2 weeks they've gone from booing the Hillsborough minutes silence, to shouting "w*nker w*nker" at Xavi (of all players!), to singing, chanting and booing a player who has been apparently racially abused.

Hmmm .... an english manager who does the exact opposite to what the media and pundits say a manager has to do, and gets result by doing that?

He's exactly the sort of manager that England needs I'd say. We certainly don't get results by following the 'tried and tested' way (and the test results were always 'fail', don't forget), so why not try an 'untested'* way instead?

(* that's not actually untested, cos he's shown it works!!).

I'd be disappointed if he got the England job right now tho, cos I reckon he's going to show the media that they don't have a fucking clue what they're talking about, and someone needs to do that.

There's a cosy little club at the top which is utter bollocks and needs over-turning. Adkins is the man who'll do it, adding to what Norwich and Swansea have started.

You might be right .... but then again there's plenty who said he'd never do it in the Prem for even one season - including plenty of 'top' managers who didn't buy him and try him - and he has.

There's far too much snobbery about lower league players, Ricky Lambert is another prime example, a player who no one wanted for the Champs but has proved himself as more than able. He might do similar in the Prem too, we find that out next season.

Both Norwich and Swansea have proven what you can do with 'not-rated' players, while the likes of QPR have gone for 'names' and are failing. There's a lesson to be learnt there.

Work just outside the black country and work with mostly wba and wolves fans, and they have never criticised his style of football. The only team to criticise really is liverpool fans who just wanted king kenny....yeah good move that!

How bad were Blackburn yesterday? Can't remember such a spineless performance from any team ever. Especially with the situation they're in.

Anyway, thats them gone now. One more space up for grabs. I think it'll be QPR. Stoke and Citeh as their last two games.

I've been assuming that they're meaning "you're a liar" rather than "you're a black c**t".

But perhaps I'm thinking the best of them. Chelsea were just about top of the racists league when I was a kid and such things were normal, and perhaps things haven't changed as much as I'm crediting.

Although from looking at the league table it doesn't look great, Kenny gave the club it's heart and pride back. The football we are playing is head and shoulders above what it was under Hodgson. Yes we've been poor in a number of games but we have dominated in many others but have just not been able to score. There's much that needs to be done but there is the makings of a good team there.

There is also the little matter that we have already won one cup and could have another at the weekend.

He was given shit load of abuse when he took over newcastle a couple of years ago and is half a season away from getting the same sort of abuse again. The problem with fans is they want the flavour of the month and the last time that the fa listened to the fans was when keegan took over and look what happend there.
