Re; Serge, let's not forget this man has made a career out of talking bullshit and presenting it as fact, he told everybody his shit band were great and worthy of headlining R&L and Hard Rock Calling, lo and behold...

The man's a fucking idiot and knows nothing, at most he knows they turned down HRC, that's it, he's just enjoying giving it the big "I am" in the papers, it's not an unreasonable assumption to make, and he can claim to be a clued up genius when it comes out as true.

You seem to b very angry at the moment. In the scheme of things it's only a festival. Chill out. Why so serious

Mike, first you invent rumours, and now you've taken to inventing the emotions behind my words. You have not the faintest clue with either.

The Sun and DigitalSpy stories both explicitly say that Take That are not playing Glastonbury this year. So for twitter to be exploding about them playing this year just gets to show how stupid those people are.

I think you're probably getting Serge confused with Tom, either way I bet he knows a damn site more than anyone else given that they're headlining a festival the the Stones were rumoured to be and are (were) a legit option for a Glasto back-up should the Stones turn it down. He's bound to be more in the loop that the average person given that it seems that his Summer plans are linked (albeit lossely) to what the Stones are doing.

history gets to tell me that he's not "bound" to be more in the loop than others. He might be, but he also might not be.

You'd be surprised how little bands sometimes know about where they're playing and what's going on around them.

Yeah I guess, but you have to entertain the possibility. Just dismissing him as someone who doesn't know more than anyone else seems a bit short-sighted.

but similarly it would be just as bad to put faith in what he says without any solid reason to have that faith in what he says.

I find it hard to dislike this serge fellow. Everything about him screams "whopper" but he's living the dream.

His band are headlining festivals, playing songs he's written. He no doubt lives the rockstar lifestyle.

Fair enough I think his music is godawful, but sat here typing this at my desk in london....well I wonder who the whopper actually is

    • Muse new album out soon , European tour announcement for Nov and Dec, no Spanish date and north American tour starts in July and in North America for all of July and August. So primavera and Glastonbury
    • Well he is on a rape charge, don't see that one as controversial.    Although Hakimi is in Morocco squad.
    • Electric Callboy just said they'll be touring here next year. I'm not sure there's a poster for it though. I'll look when I'm near some next.      He said we'll see you at Download at a gig before any of the band. Presumably he was trolling. They're in Austria at the moment and Germany tomorrow with a week's break and more shows in Germany. Whilst not impossible to come back here and then go over there again, it seems unlikely.
    • Thomas Partey, knocked back by Canadian immigration now.
    • I'm sure someone can update you on the clashfinder, and it will be pretty accurate by the time the festival comes around. It's a large flat-ish arena with main stage in the open air, no best side I'd say. Leadmill (3rd stage medium tent) is at the back of the main arena, T'Other (2nd stage big tent) 5 min walk round the corner. At full capacity walking around can take a bit more time though. I noticed that The Enemy are scheduled to not fully overlap with Wolf Alice, so you could catch part of their set too.   You can walk around anywhere with a beer, with most bars the usual mass market stuff, but one nice craft ale tent, back of the arena near the Leadmill stage. A main meal will set you back £10-15, but cheaper snacks also available. Expect a pint to be £7-8. Possibly a bit more this year as prices everywhere are increasing.   It's fairly easy to get to from the town centre using the tram, although can be busy at peak times / very busy at curfew. If you like a walk, it's approx 40 mins to Kelham Island (lots of indy venues) and probably an hour to the city, or catch an Uber. There will be loads of 'fringe' music events on around the city right through the weekend. Most are free. Have a wonderful trip, enjoy the festival, and your stay in our city!
