I've got nothign against the prodigy really, I had a whale of a time to them in the early 90s, I just find them to have turned into a staid behemoth of the type they were always against. They were fresh, they were the young kids pissing off all the middle aged rockist men when they first came out. They were the very essence of youthful rebellion anf fuck you-ness. Now, I dunno.

shit, it's just occured to me what's really happened, I've become that middle aged man. That's probably the issue, nothing to do with the Prodigy.

Wonder if Adele has been persuaded. Not that she needs the publicity or the album sales. But she will probably like the charity thing and I am sure her publicist etc people would love it. Would be a big one for the festival "Adele's first ever festival performance" (Headliner for certain, maybe ever, unless she did little ones when she was up and coming). She did the Oscars and is meant to be in therapy for stage fright? Unlikely but maybe they went begging and persuaded her. She doesn't even really need to be "touring" (Imagine she is going to be writing/child raising this year) - her set up would be pretty simple.

Still unlikely I am sure.

    • Cheers! And yep looks identical to Green day's scheduling
    • Reading all the feedback with interest.  If there are now 75,000 tickets officially sold, plus who knows how many more people blagging in - then on the Friday evening and Saturday in particular, it's not ridiculous to suggest there's 50,000 people at Mordor, which is a stadium gig - except with much worse sight lines, an inferior PA, and far less bars and toilets. The Thursday evening in 2022 was of course infamous but on the Friday night for Beck I was trapped about 150m from the stage, surrounded by chatters, and with no prospect of getting nearer the stage.  With hindsight that was when I realised the fest had one way or another fundamentally changed.  Also noting on Reddit that some folk didn't enjoy the Cure or Gorillaz because the sets were "too long".  In future bands may be better received if they actually just play their top 10 Spotify songs then get back off the stage.
    • Has Glastonbury already got council permission for that 5 year run?
    • This keeps being mentionned but it only happened because Dua's Europe Tour was rescheduled due to Covid. Dua's arena show was initially planned for October 2021 but got rescheduled to May 2022 a month after the PS2022 lineup was announced.   I hope Massive Attack and Doja get to come back. I guess it'll depend whether they have a summer tour planned next year.
