am i the only person who is kinda glad if the headliners turn out to be the arctic monkeys, the stones and mumford?... only one there i want to see (the stones) which means i can go and explore other stages and watch other bands... been to glastonbury twice before and have always watched the pyramid headliners (not always by choice!) so personally it would be a good kick up the arse to go and see other things, especially if the pumpkins play the other on the sunday

headliners are very important to some and not so important to others, so i'd guess you're not the only one who'll be doing something else.

Yeah, having seen Stevie in 2010 and U2/Beyonce in 2011, I'll be happy enough with the rumoured acts. I'd probably check out the Stones if they were on Sunday, but on Saturday I'll definitely be elsewhere.

Just saw that Paul McCartney is playing some American festival the week before Glastonbury and it got me thinking. It's been 9 years since he headlined, and if they're short of a Sunday headliner.......well it would be a popular way to close the festival.

A concern would be if The Rolling Stones did play on Saturday and then you have Paul McCartney the next night it's not very diverse.

In the 6 times I've been to Glastonbury I've only ever watched the headliners on the pyramid 2 and a half times

1992 - Carter USM

2003 - R.E.M

2009 - Half of Gorillaz before going to see Good Shoes at the Queens Head

I've seen loads of pyramid headliners. I love the big occasion. I used to love it more when people had fires.

seeing a decent band headlining the pyramid is far more preferable than going to the so-called naughty corner, for me. I think that area is hugely overrated

Oh absolutely, I wouldn't miss someone I like on the pyramid for anything, Stevie Wonder was amazing. But I don't really like the Rolling Stones and there's always loads of DJs I like playing over in Block 9 and Shangri La

The only headliners I've gone to see on the off chance they might be good is Jay Z and Bruce Springsteen.

Both were utter dung so never again will I do that!

Though having said that, I can see myself watching the stones if they play, despite the fact I saw them at isle of wight a few years ago and they were appalling..

The weather is 2007 was really really bad. Rain rain and more rain. Consistently pissing it down. And the lineup in 2008 wasn't the best for a lot of people. Headliners of The Verve, Jay-Z and Kings of Leon. Even the Other stage headliners were weak. Panic at the Disco!

even though they were one of the 'big' names at that moment, that booking always looks bizarre to me. in fact, looking over the entire 2008 lineup, it does seem to be missing something. looks like it could be any other festival rather than Glastonbury
