That reminds me - remember last year when people were saying Stevie Wonder wasn't big enough to headline?

I really wanted to share with them a photo of where I was able to stand (actually in the tents at the back of the field) before deciding it wasn't worth having a band experience of the man and going to see Orbital

I see what you mean! But do we really think they'd know anything? Anyone know who actually runs pilton.com and whether they have ever had any insider knowledge? I had a mate at university who used to reckon he could get the Glasto line-up from pubs near where he lived (just outside Shepton Mallet) before it was announced. In the three years I spent at uni with him he was always right and about two months ahead of the official announcements but I'd come to believe that this didn't happen anymore. My link

I was sort of one of those people, thought he was big enough alright but just thought he may play loads of cheesy ballads. He didn't. I was 100% wrong (thankfully). He f**king nailed it.

Although unfortunately Im not wrong about the Stones if they play, it'll be average at best.

Saying that I saw a youtube video the other day from what people had filmed thenmsleves and they looked in front of the speakers and they had a fire going in the middle of the crowd and everything. Very odd cos we got there bit late and couldn't find a way in to get closer!

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
