Hmm. Don't see why they would keep the "football field" on if they don't need to. With a stage on it, it would be a cracking venue though, the slope of the field was ideal.

I really wanted to see Slash but the wife wanted to see the football and I wasnt prepared to let her go on her own, so I went to the football on the field outside Gate C. What a waste of time, and I missed Slash and we could here him playing Sweet Child Of Mine.

I am guessing the field will revert back to Camping for next year.

I went to go in the football field by the dance village but was told it was too busy and to go to the other field. It was at that point I though i'm at f**king Glasto why am I going to watch the footie so walked to the Pyramid and watched Ray Davies who was the highlight of my festival.

So so glad I made that decision!!

To be honest... I'd packed my England shirt and was ready for the big game... Received the times on the first day... And said sorry England.. You'll be here in 4 years!

Went to Slash and it was so unbelievably amazing!!! I actually couldn't believe how great it was I managed a sneaky run through to the barrier is well! So had a perfect view of Slaash!

Doubt the footie field will be here next year!

I love watching the football on Wednesday or Thursday but I will always regret going on that Sunday afternoon. I'll never miss bands for the football again - and missing so much of the last day for THAT makes me cringe now. I didn't even want to see Slash - or anyone else wildly - but there were still a hundred better places I could have been!

Once the festival proper starts there is too much else to be doing. What was I thinking of? If they'd won there would have been another game after we got back, as we didn't win, it was not only a waste of time but a complete downer as well.

...........and I want Paines field back! It had become home! Dairy was OK but the combination of taking Paines out, and more people latching on to that end of the site, meant that it became far more crowded than previous years. Still a pretty laid back vibe, but people even ended up camped in the fire lane.

Yes - no football next year so can we have Paines back please?

That's the reason why I started this thread.

I did like the fact that we could cut through the football field round the back of the dance village to get to John Peel and that side of the Pyramid stage, and I'd probably consider camping in the football field if they keep that, rather than dairy and the back of Paines which was a bit too remote for us and imho didn't have enough toilet facilities.

I went with my friends to try to watch the football on the Sunday - but just couldn't cope with the heat (before it even started!) so me and my other half took off and just had a general roam and found shady spots to sit in and watch the world go by and weird and wacky things - it was good fun!
