From an e-mail alert thing -

With Roger already hinting that this could be his final big tour, and the legendary David Gilmour confirmed to be appearing alongside him at one of the shows, this is already promising to be the hottest tour of the decade.

I know it sounds mad, because Roger is an absolute living legend, like one of the best for a long long, if not ever, easily capable of a headline slot, but is he appreciated, I think a legend slot could happen? Just extend it a little longer, i'd love that, The Man is a legend.

..and having watched that, you're right. I am cussing like mad here for not trying to get tickets when there were still decent seats going.

So hoping he'll do Glastonbury now but don't honestly think it's realistic to expect all that paraphanalia and pyrotechnics to make its way there. If he does HRC instead it's another option if I don't get a ticket for G I suppose.

Hmmmm, not looking quite so good now for those hoping for a Glasto and/or Hyde Park appearance to fill the apparent 'hole' in the schedule  Said 'hole' has reduced in size somewhat recently it would seem and the only potential date is now Sunday 26th June cos it looks as though an extra night in Zurich has been sneaked in:

Wed 22nd June - Budapest

Fri 24th June - Zurich

Sat 25th June - Zurich

Sun 26th June - ?????

Mon 27th June - who cares !

Tue 28th June - Manchester

Clicky For Linky to Tour Dates page on rogerwaters.com - date also confirmed on the venue website.

Chances of 3 nights on the trot feels kinda slim TBH but add to that travelling from Zurich as well and it feels very much slimmer I think.

Sorry to be the bringer of potentially bad 'news' and all that :(

Well, if you want to get *really* p!SSed off :P ... then you could always check out some of the other great vids posted by the same guy: linky Bl**dy exxxxxcellent stuff and I've absolutely no idea how he managed to get away with it ! but I really must stop looking for sneaky previews of the show or there will be no surprises whatsoever for me come May next year  Alternatively, cross hammers everything and keep one eye open for more dates - they're still sneaking occasional extra tour dates in even now, although doubtful for London I think but there still has to be a distinct possibility of more dates for Manchester I guess :)

*IF* he does play Glasto then not only will I be mighty p!SSed off for not being there but it will surely have to be a very cut down show anyway. Even 2002 was a significantly cut down version of the standard show. It's a good 2.5 hours long apart from anything else not to mention all of the 'stuff' and techo gizmos various being used. Similar story for Hyde Park although a bit more of a chance for getting at least some of the bells and whistles I would imagine. The curious extra dates back in the UK around the relevant time for Glasto and/or Hyde Park simply has to be highly indicative of something going to happen somewhere ... but my money's still on Hyde Park with only the merest hint of a possibility of Glasto either as well as or even less likely, instead of Hyde Park.

Damn. :(

That pretty much rules both out.

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
