Terrible timing? The reports said he wasn't allowed to leave in summer due to the club being for sale, and obviously him leaving would devalue the club. He was always going to leave, and it was always going to be bitter, just the way it goes.

Can anyone blame torres, the vast majority of talent liverpool had have been shipped out over the past two years, no champs league this year, and so far this season has been worse than the last for them, they best hope their new strikeforce hit it off.

Torres and Drogba will be something to fear though, if Torres is in form he's a remarkable player, and drogba is drogba, a goal machine.

With you on andy carroll though, can see this transfer being on blooper reels in years to come!

so do you really think that if you had any star players to sell (:P) that some of the fans of your own club would act any differently?

There's morons at every club. As so recently proven in Manchester Salford.

2 minutes and Arsenal use to get away with days.

Spurs have had their own 'dodgy' transfers in the last year or two, that appear to have gone thru after the deadline.

Something I've read in the last few days (I forget where) suggested that clubs were firmly told before this window that nothing like that would be allowed to happen this time (which of course suggests that they HAVE been allowing stuff thru after the deadline previously), and it does seem to have been stuck to this time.
