I thought it was common knowledge he was scared. After the last jump he hired a psychologist to help him through. That shows dedication.

If you get chance look for box video for a guy called Kittingesr and Project Excelsior. He is the guy who set the record at 102000ft in 1960. Its not only amazing given the kit he has but when he did his jumps he had to roll onto his back due to the weight of his kit.

So May's used those pesky human rights laws to block McKinnon extradition. Good for her, but it's rather telling that she was involved in trying to get rid of them when it suited her purposes not so long ago

if this had been Abu Hamza claiming he'd top himself if extradited then 'human rights' would have counted for nothing. ;)

But good to see things reverting more to how they used to be, before Blair sucked George's dick and made him supreme legal authority in the UK.

And heres Atlantic City. Fuck!!

that looks really bad until you notice the parked car and see that the water is only about 4 inches deep.

I'm sure it's not a lot of fun for anyone whose property is underwater, but it's not serious flooding just yet. It's just a few waves having come over the sea wall.

I'm fairly confident that NYC picture isn't real. This is where I get big weather nerdy, but that's a shelf cloud produced at the outflow boundary of large thunderstorm system. Its caused by the difference in temperature of the cool downdraft air that a thunderstorm is chucking out the bottom and the warmer moister air surrounding it.

Hurricanes and tropical storms don't have them and don't look like that. That pic is probably taken from a spring storm system.

    • Wow, way to insult the guy.
    • yougov seems to be the outlier when it comes to the Burnham bounce. But also, being a bounce, it was never going to last, but with Reform maybe on the way down, and Tories holding steady, we could end up with Reform, Labour and Tories all between 20 and 25% for a while. A lot of it at moment with Burnham is vibes, and the vibes are currently sexy and are pulling support back from Greens, but the autumn budget is key...will they go big and bold, or will they do very little because they're thinking a 2027 general election?
    • Attended a gig at Piece Hall for the first time on Saturday (Opeth), the music was excellent. Just a couple of points on the organisation & the event itself. - Getting through the gates seemed to take longer than required. I was at the South gate about 30 mins before stated start time and still missed first half of Katatonia. - Coffee stall was serving cold coffee later on. - Lots of the crowd seemed to be more interested in chatting than listening to the music. Doubly annoying when sound levels for Opeth seemed quieter than Paradise Lost, is this usual for the venue due to curfew etc? Luckily there was enough room so I could move close to the front of the crowd and couldn't hear drunken chatter anymore 🙂
    • Tickets will just be sent out via email; going out next Monday 10th August apparently.
