Am I the only one that thinks this situation is exciting? I wasn't that thrilled by U2 and would go and see them as they are supposed to be legendry, but am interested to see what GFL pull out of the bag if they don't make it.

Don't get me wrong, I feel sorry for Bono, and hope he makes a speedy recovery, though.

now im far from being a massive u2 fan but there's some seriously shocking shite bands being suggested here as suitable replacements... coldplay, snore patrol, foo fighters, dizzee f**kin rascal ffs and much as i like the chemical brothers i dont think they deserve the slot either... even im starting to hope bono makes a speedy recovery! if this had happened before the deadline for refunds and any of those had been announced as the replacement there would still be a mountain of tickets left for sale, ME is going to have to pull someone massive out of the bag or the 40th anniversary line up is going to go down as the biggest damp squib in the festivals history! even mccartney or bowie wouldn't really rescue it as they've already played so it really has to be led zep!

Like a few others, not really a fan of this band but would of wandered along to see what all the fuss was about.

I hope they can make it, it would be such a blow to the festival after all the hype they've received :/

I think if any band is bought in it is going to be Kasabian actually....wanted to play this year 'if needed', would piss me off, i love them but they are the sluts of the festival world

Still hoping for U2 so much though :P

    • I see, well even if they aren't on sale it's still not a disaster sales wise, it's not like they are struggling to sell a half capacity areana
    • Blue dot wouldn’t be a thing if Ticketmasters dynamic pricing went down as well as up, it proves that the dynamic pricing was just a scam to make more money rather than something that moved with the market supply/demand.
    • I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.
    • MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.
