I missed her at Glasto this year, and didn't really know her stuff, but I saw her and I loved her. I hope she plays at Glasto 2010, I think it very likely!

I was completely underwelmed.

One great song. One average song. A cover. And dross.

80's styleeee power pop. Awful, awful awful.

I think I was at a different gig to you :P One of the highlights of my festival.

I didn't see her at a festival, I saw her at the same place (that cannot be mentioned here) as the OP.

To be fair to her, the people I was with had seen her a week before, and said she was much better that time than on the night I saw her, and that her voice was duff that night for some reason.

But, from my side, I'm not sure that would have made too much of a difference, I reckon I'd have still been underwhelmed. She's only ever gonna be as good as her material allows, and the fact that a not-great cover version is her 2nd best song (not just my opinion, that crowd's as well) says that she's limited by that material.

I think they are brilliant!! The whole album is great, except I don't like when bands have a cover as an album track especially when it hasn't been changed much. Saw them at Glastonbury and loved it. I just can't get over that Florence is only 22! I thought she had to of nearly been 40

Why the secrecy still? There is a story about this on the main festival website, fully explaining what it was, when it was, and who it was for, complete with photos of Michael Eavis with performers. Why are you (e-festivals) supposed to keep quiet about it when the official site can talk about it?

I wasn't aware it was on their website. If I had been, I wouldn't have been doing the secrecy act.

That aside, I think someone somewhere has been extremely daft putting that on the official site, as it'll impact back on PP next year. Given the chaos that Jo Whiney's big mouth caused PP and the festival a few years ago, I thought they'd have learnt. :P

Fair enough.

I would have thought being completely open about this, but explaining that it is small scale, and not a "secret Glastonbury" might be a better way not to have hoards turning up on the off chance of getting in. They already sell tickets locally only, it all seems a bit odd.

as the Jo Whiney thing got to show, no matter how it's publicised if people think they're missing out they'll turn up anyway.

As the point is to raise money for the village, if they end up having to spend a fortune on security measures there's no money for the village, and it's no thank-you to the village for the chaos caused by the festival if the thank-you causes all the same chaos.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
