The UK had a beautiful summer with hardly any rain in 2013. Although most days chemtrails could be seen criss-crossing the sky, which it looks like now were being used to suppress the rain.
One reported effect of chemtrails, is that the tiny metal particles that are sprayed in the sky absorb the moisture in the atmosphere, stopping clouds from forming, and then the rain from falling.
If the goal of the summers geo-engineering campaign was to delay the rain and cause it to all come at once then it was successful.

I've just had a fantastic phone call (that unfortunately got cut short when my phone battery died).

My phone rings, and a voice explains he's looking for publicity for his campaign, he's from XYZ University and he hopes efestivals might help. I ask "what campaign?"

He starts to explain an idea that is the subject of conspiracy theories. I jokingly mention tin-foil hats.

I mention that I know lots of academic institutions have looked into this idea and found nothing.

He tells me to look at his website for proof. His website is down.

He starts to explain how the conspiracy works, that the "powerful corporations" who are behind what govts do have co-opted a global industry into their conspiracy, and that products have been modified to carry out the conspiracy. The conspiracy itself is put into action via the efforts of (probably tens of) thousands of workers at a number of locations around the globe.

I point out that given the numbers that would be involved, it wouldn't be possible to keep this quiet. He tells me that I don't understand how powerful the conspirators are, how scared the workers are (including hundreds in the UK), etc, etc.

I ask what he does at the Uni. It turns out he's not part of the academic staff, but in a 'normal' role.

I ask how come he's found all this out when 'proper' academics have failed? He suggests he must be cleverer, or more-lucky, or something.

Backwards and forwards it goes, with me laughing off much of what he's saying. At one point he even says "my god, you must be one of them".

That was about the end of the convo, sadly. As I say, my phone died.

I have looked at his website, and even watched a video that he says gives proof - and while it's not something I'm technically competent to explain, his "proof" isn't either (which is even admitted to within the text on screen in the video).

So there you go. If we all die a horrible death as a result of a worldwide corporate conspiracy, you can blame me. Because I had the chance to save the world, and I refused.

I'm trying to not give any publicity, as that was what he was wanting. So no link, sorry.

His own website was up and down like a yoyo while I was speaking to him (I've not been back there since), but the video was hosted on a popular video sharing site, and he'd told me to go and watch it and how to find it when we'd been speaking.

So no, no dastardly plot.

I know who you are talking about as your name has popped up on his personal Facebook page. The guy is barking mad and talking out of his arse. He has nothing to do with a uni and until recently was a sound engineer.

To be fair to him, he did admit to me that he wasn't part of the uni's academic staff but a technician - but only after first using the uni's name at me, as a way to suggest that he was part of the academic staff.

It really is the most ridiculous of conspiracies and as someone with a science background it does not even pass the laugh test. However it does have its acolytes that blindly follow the belief. Here is a video of a recent rally, with your caller in it.

People are actually marching against a premise that is not happening. They make wild claims that have no evidence base and quite simply are wrong. However, many of them seem genuine in their belief but I am concerned for those that are pulled in that are mentally ill. Without to much detail I had to get the police involved with regards to one believer and threats received via FB. I came across him in an anti-fracking group that he was trying to sway to his belief. Before care in the community he would have been gone for a few months

I heard a good one this weekend, that the reason magic mushrooms were banned were because they have a chemical in them which prevents cancer, and the big drug companies lobbied for the ban so that they can isolate and synthesize the chemical and then make a fortune selling it as a cancer prevention drug.
