I am a bit worried for BBK this year. Of the better bands left to choose from, most seem to have been snapped up already.

Maybe that's why it takes them so long to make the announcement.

Also, afair they usually tease the announcement itself, right?

They do normally tease it if I remember.

And they can't announce after next week when people's money is going on Christmas so clock is ticking!

Wouldn't be surprised to see Fontaines headlining BBk as a Spanish exclusive

They will be doing some dates in August. La route du rock is a french festival exclusive date and next week Frequency in Austria before going to R&L and Electric Picnic.

Interesting to see if they can find few more dates around BBK but i guess the dates in August makes it more unlikely.

Alas it wouldn’t make sense to route Bilbao to Barcelona to Madrid when you could do a far more efficient Bilbao to Madrid to Barcelona…

Spain's Madrid-centric infrastructure at work eh? I looked at trying to pair Bilbao and Barcelona on a holiday trip and the difference between them combined with lack of direct high-speed train without going via Madrid feels like quite the faff.

There is a direct high speed train in fact.

Not the very fastest but same speed as eg London to Edinburgh.

Maybe I was expecting quicker than 7 hours given how rapid the Madrid-Valencia train is from experiencing of going on that. Ah well. Happy to be corrected.

Unlike the UK, Spain has super rapid trains like on that route you mention. And as it’s a vastly bigger a country, it’s just as well!

Think that’s 3 in July she’s now been announced for

Ah has she? I had a look on her website but I only saw the Mighty Hoopla in May but it probably just hasn't been updated yet. Either way, crossing my fingers we cross paths somewhere next year.

I hate it on the other hand and I've loved so many previous editions.

Horses for courses..

David Byrne is my number one artist to see next year and I don't mind Robbie Williams as long as (he doesn't talk endless drivel or do unecessary covers). I'm presuming CDW and Richie Hawtin will be on very early in the morning?

Very solid this.

Not a bad top-end that in fairness to them. Lovely to see Lily Allen is open to festivals though, got me fingers crossed she turns up at Werchter now.

She was already at Mighty Hoopla in London (maybe elsewhere, too)

Yeah, BBK, Ruiksock (Finland) and Lolla Berlin.  So certainly around

I like that. Definitely one of the more interesting line ups for 2026. Decent undercard as well

Yeah I think that's what I like about it. Like don't get me wrong, I love all three of Gorillaz, Nick Cave and The Cure but I feel like I can't look at a poster without 1, 2 or all 3 of them occupying the top spaces. Little bit of variety is nice.

    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
    • Shambles. Transport and comms garbage. Been looking forward to this since last June and have never been to a more disorganised festival in 30+ years.  Why we were told the whole festival was cancelled for the night if they had put back shows for a few hours?  Pissed off to say the very least and put a huge downer on the rest of the weekend.
    • Rotten communication. Actually god awful. Posting sporadically on IG, closing Mordor only to reopen and cause some serious carnage. Left the festival as it got too much for my 16year old daughter. She was devastated about Alex G and Mac…but TV girl could have saved it. Took us until 1220 and already home to find out they might/are playing. Pish.    and on another note, this festival has lost its bastard soul. Gone are the wee tents with local sellers selling vinyl, t shirts etc, now you can buy a 50 f**king eur official T-shirt. The ar*e is truely out of this event now. I went to Porto for the first time last year and it was fab. I love Barcelona and the line up is always stacked, but this festival is a corporate loss take. Hopefully a better day tomorrow.
    • f**king horrendous and seems they couldn’t run an egg and spoon race.  zero info and the crush waiting to get in to see Massive Attack was potentially disasterous. Zero info, no stewards at all and was told that the whole evening was cancelled, when we got to the exit. Because it rained. First time attendee and i’ve got onsay, i’m far from impressed. Scalping bastard taxis asking €37 plus for an €11 fare too. Wonderdul.
    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
