It's someone who got last years headliners right

Feels unlikely to me

I would say that I've heard a separate rumour that the festival really wants a bigger than usual headliner name as it's the anniversary year, though Pulp's name hadn't come up before now and the source was keen to stress that people had only been spec approached rather than this being very likely to happen. Of course Jarvis has played and DJ'd at the festival before...

Something is in the offing. A pre Xmas announcement would be great.

Some sleuthing on the website shows that comedy and film lineups say "lineup coming next year" whereas music says "lineup coming later"...

reckon we're looking at a few names early December again!

I'm guessing it'll be like last year where we get headliners and a smattering of other decent names with the bulk across all stages in January. Also, if it is Pulp it's best to get in while people are still aware that they're playing a big open air show in the north and aren't doing many in the UK this year.

Beta Band? Allowing Green Man announce first?

GM and EOTR don't share acts that high up the bill, not even in secret.

The last time there was a big name secret act was Wet Leg and the assumption was that it was because they'd agreed to play but then went under contract to Reading & Leeds. Someone we've heard are playing there this year and have the Thursday free - and Uncut's report confirms it's the Thursday headliner and won't be announced until the last minute - is Simon favourites and EOTR alumni Geese...

That was a secret act - have we ever had a secret headliner?

handy to know it’s the Thursday headliner act though

    • We head out in the morning. Couple of nights in New York then up to Boston. Enjoy the games lads and hopefully we get some great football to take our minds off the whole shitshow off the pitch.
    • White Stripes/QotSA at Harewood 2007, Tramlines (and Blue Dot, same weekend) in '23, and Elbow at Jodrell Bank '13.
    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
