I mean it was you who was trying to convince us that Gerendai would bring more rock/metal. Don’t know why you were so pushy about it if you indeed enjoy all kinds of music.

Because a lot of festivals were annoucing them, and I listen them a lot so I was just hoping for it to happen

(for those who haven't seen it yet)

Only 17 names, Sziget got 38 so far, and still it feels stronger.

Totally different festivals to be fair. Ones a lineup based festivals one isnt. Sziget has never had strong lineups, not for me anyway and definitely not post covid.

Probably a fairer comparison would be Roskilde.

When it looked like Sziget wasn't going ahead, we explored all other options across Europe and decided on Rock en Seine - we even booked an apartment close by. However, the more we looked into it the more we decided it would be like attending APE for 4 days in a row - didn't feel like a community in any way and not much more on offer other than music,

And I was talking about him being headliner before this one message you marked

Yeah I looked at it also, if Sziget wasn't on I would of gone. As it is a good lineup, patchy headliners for my tastes (deftones/tyler) but wonderful undercard.

I didn't expect Sziget to give us a wonderful lineup, its really as expected except Capaldi headlining. Which I am sure there will be many posts about capaldi headlining, from now until August.

Capaldi, is the only meh for me, I am not a fan of 21p but I can see the appeal, Florence has a great voice and Sombr is one of the current hottest upcoming artists around, for me a headliner should leave you on a high, and that gets you ready for a party if you're staying or if you leave feeling good, I find his songs very samey, no denying he has a good voice, but he is a 4/5pm late afternoon act for me.

If there will be 7 headliners on poster, this announcement is promising.

If we have 4 out of 5 now top names already, Sziget will struggle to sell well, there are some massive lineups around the Europe this year.

I would be very surprised if we don't get at least seven 'headliners'.

If we weren't getting more than five, I suspect they would be making more of an act like Biffy Clyro being there and bumping them to the top line.

Hungarians out there.

We are in Budapest from the Friday morning. We are mulling over going to the DJ Oti day (8th)on the Island.

Where is best place to get a ticket, for a UK resident?

Seems like it’s going to be sold here: https://in-time.hu/e/djoti2026?fbclid=IwRlRTSAOlCsFleHRuA2FlbQIxMABzcnRjBmFwcF9pZAo2NjI4NTY4Mzc5AAEenEr0r0QWUlOdwNRXnAU-RSCAow0ZA9ahEPwbRhjm19EptjjaA9NR1J7MlZ0_aem_oRRYKF-2jZv3C_MFJvegsA from the 15th. But prepare for Glastonbury-like carnage for tickets, his gigs this year were instantly sold out.

Might worth a try, as he had 2 nights in Budapest Park with ~15k capacity, the main stage area has around 90k, so tickets might hold out for a while. Not sure. The 2million HUF vip ticket is really appealing.

Biffy and Underworld headlining Revolut would lift the roof off.

Please please dont put Underworld in the 4am slot in the party arena. This old boy needs his sleep. 🤗

I think us old boys should be alright, the 3am-6am slots are usually DJs only and Underworld are a semi live band so they should get the 12:30 Revolut headline slot.

Hope so, saw them about 7 or 8 years ago at a festival. Had no real interest, was one of the best hours I've ever had at a festival. I assume they're taking the 'Justice spot'.

I made a budget estimation of the already announced performers by chatgpt, total estimated booking cost turned out to be about 1.23-2.45 billion HUF, sziget total budget is 13 billion HUF (Gerendai said today in the forbes event), and they usually spend roughly 35-45% of total budget for performers, thats 4.55-5.85B HUF. It means the second wave of artists will be at least as costly as the first one, if chatgpt numbers are accurate
