We saw him on the island in 2024, he was actually quite lovely live and has a nice catalogue if you're willing to invest some time in it

Quite enjoyed him, perfect early evening festival act in the Budapest sunshine. 😎😎

No, you're both wrong. I shall accept no further discussion on the matter. 😉

If I had to wager, I'd guess that the first announcement will have at least one of Lorde, Florence + The Machine or Twenty One Pilots headlining with maybe PinkPantheress, Turnstile, Ravyn Lenae and Sombr on the undercard

If we could have all of those, I'd be a very happy camper!

Saw Pinkpantheress last week and she had the crowd in the palm of her hand - not at Charli levels yet but I'd be surprised if she didn't get that far. Fancy That is a banger.

Depending on the money situation, theres a few options out there.

Lorde

Florence

Calvin Harris

Nick Cave OR XX

I would LOVE The xx but for Sziget they seem to be in a weird spot where I don't see them headlining but then they're too big for the A38 (Revolut)

You never know, subbed in 2012. Although if it was xx or nick cave, then nick cave is more of a headliner for sziget. Especially as we are down to 5 days, if it was 6/7 days there would be more scope.

The weeknd, Ariana Grande? Their schedule fits with sziget…

No:

a) they're not playing festivals

b) Sziget can't afford them

c) it doesn't really fit their schedule (The Weeknd's setup will be moving from Stockholm to London and Adriana's from the US to London during Sziget, Budapest is quite far from these routes).

I would be happy with something like these, objectively solid big names, considering we just avoided the end of the festival and all the money loss..

Muse are playing in the US at the beginning of July at Summerfest. If they come back home by August, I wouldn't be surprised if they will show up at Sziget. They might be a bit "cheaper" than other rock bands because they didn't release any big albums as they did in the 2000s, they also played the festival more than once and they were the last big rock headliner under Gerendai.

Muse IS big. When you can fill stadiums, you are a big act lol.

I don't know why, but to me, Robbie Williams fits perfectly... and the 39 years old me would be ok if he was the pop act, I guess we all listenned to him when we were teenagers lol

🤭

I have seen him twice. Once at Glastonbury 1998, where he was awesome. Then took my wife to see him outdoors at leeds somewhere, can't remember where. She's not a festival/concert goer, worse day in my life. We haven't been to a gig/festival together since. 😂

Sounds like money well spent then 🤣😉

    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
