That makes total sense, but I also think we can keep our minds open since it is NOS Alive we're talking about. Never will I forget that transition from Snow Patrol to Nine Inch Nails a few years ago...

Tbf I went to Mad Cool 2018 and they had At The Drive In followed by Snow Patrol. Similarly weird.

With Wolf Alice on the bill for the 10th... it suggest more a headliner like FF than Sabrina Carpenter

Given Wolf Alice have supported Harry Styles, I would argue there's a degree of flexibility. Plus tbf a lot of festivals now seem content to put a ton of different sounds together.

Beyond that, it surely is a matter of festivals working around with what they have available. The pool of artists that are touring and festival-able is an ever changing landscape. Nowadays, you have a lot of BIG artists that are capable of holding their own extremely highly-priced solo shows, whereas headliner worthy names aren't as regular in direct comparison

This I was expecting, but it’s one of my favourite bands 🙂

I guess they will play the second slot. Too big to open the stage, unless they don’t spent a lot on the headliner for this day. With Foo Fighters or Sabrina headlining, I’m sure they will cut costs on the stage opening act.

it depends on the rest of the line up for NOS Stage

If they have something like FF, Deftones , APC , wolf alice is opening the day for sure

Hmm I'm willing to bet it'll be Wolf Alice filling the "mid size international band" slot

Since 2019, I stopped deluding myself and dreaming about the NOS Alive poster, which is why I put Wolf Alice in that position.
I already said last year when everyone was imagining 1001 names for the headline and in the end the headline was Anyma, which was a big failure ......... And I believe that Nick Cave is a headliner, he may not be the last one to perform but he is a headliner, he has always been a headliner at all the festivals he has been to in Portugal.

I don't mean that there'll be anything that much bigger than Wolf Alice though, I mean that I'd expect a similarly sized band to play after them

Yes, and I'm not saying that goes against that - I mean:

Headliner
Someone else
Wolf Alice
Someone else

that would be my bet although i wouldnt put it pass it putting wolf alice opening the day if they have 2 strong bands besides the headliner

no way they are playing before the headliner

I think the size of Wolf Alice is being underestimated here. They have just been playing arena shows. I think they will be sub-headliner.

I’m not. Like I said, it’s one of my favourite bands. They are huge in the UK, which is important for any NOS Alive line-up. For that reason and ofc their market value, I don’t believe they will open the stage, unless Covões loses his mind and spends loads of money on this day. A Perfect Circle or even Deftones can play on Nick Cave’s day. In the past we had Sam Smith and QOTSA on the same day…

I think Wolf Alice will be the second band of the stage, but it’s my opinion just by looks of this edition.

BTW, Nick Cave is obviously headlining, which doesn’t mean that we won’t have another big name on that day.

I think A Perfect Circle is going to Evil Live

    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
