Shows the calibre of the festival that they can get a sub-headlime of a stage pull out, and within an hour or two they've got Skepta. Respect

they probably knew last night about the possibility and asked who was hanging out at the festival if theyre willing to perform just in case.  Fest had a cutoff time on a decision. If it was a band then they gotta have time to load in. This worked well because it required almost nothing.

They made a quick recovery and played Crystal Palace the day after.

I can't blame them for prioritising their own gig given the money would be much more though still leaves a sour taste?

An illness bad enough to cancel a festival show, but then played a tour show the day after? Bit strange...

I think it was Chino who was ill and probably worried about his voice.

Bands end up cancelling the odd show here or there within a tour all the time.

Hearing the rumour just before weezer was such a mood killer as Deftones were my top act of the weekend. Thankfully Pulp picked me back up again, and I let my energy out in the Lambrini Girls pit instead.

If Deftones and Linkin Park are headlining Download next year, I will almost certainly be making my first trip there during the fallow. Gutted to miss both acts while they were here this week.

Yep we all said the same, won't be listening to them again for a long long time.

Me too, the same thing happened to me a few years ago when Janes Addiction pulled out of Leeds Festival a few hours before due on stage, then rocked up in London the night after to play their own show. I don't think I've listened to them since.

You can blame them, they committed to the shows and they knows the deals of what each one represents. Let's not waste a Download headline slot on them without supplying an alternative.

was that 2011?

they dropped out of Reading headline set on R1 stage at very short notice so I ended up at Mighty Mighty Bosstones in a tent instead!

    • 1. Baby Dave - Billy 2. A - Prang   Not really got round to listening to many more in May so not really fair to vote but shoutout to EPs from Bleech 9:3 - Bleech 9:3 & Villanelle - Measly Means
    • Guitarricadelafuente was bloody brilliant tonight. This is going to be a very Spanish focussed year for me. Rusowsky dragging out Las Ketchup on Saturday has the potential to be a Prima magic moment.
    • £112 for standard entry. No thank you.
    • Meanwhile Gracie Abrams is £92 for the cheapest with the average price around £160 for lower tier and £103 standing.   First time in a while I've gone from a definite yes to a definite no on price alone.   Amble was £31 this morning.
