Agreed. If they do anything before 2028 it would be a surprise. It often tends to be the way though that they'll wait quite a while after finishing touring before deciding upon what to do next if indeed to do anything at all.

I don't just mean in terms of how many people you can safely fit in the field.. But in terms of things like the traffic management plans that events have to put in these days, sanitation plans, etc. All that's changed since the Oasis shows of the 90s or even since the RW shows of the early 2000s.

 

I know they've got relatively easy access to the motorway, so it's not as big an impact on local roads as most green field events, but I feel like there'll be good reasons that there's not been a >100k event there in a very long time and that the (easily sold out) Liam gigs a couple years ago were capped lower when they could have easily sold tens of thousands more tickets.

The car park just can't cope with it - and public transport after the shows is near non existant in comparison to doing wembley.

 

London's stadiums have so many dates nowadays (tottenham and wembley each do about 15 shows a year, and then the rest!) - using a venue in the middle of nowhere that isn't set up for it year round, let alone purpose built just makes no sense unless you want nostalgia like Liam did.

Its very different to Wembley which is built for high capacity concerts, just look at the roads nearby. It took hours for people to leave the car park from Knebworth.

 

Let's compare the route to the station at Wembley (image 1) and Knebworth (image 2)

 

 

 

There's also about 5 trains back into London after 11pm vs 5 different lines from Wembley 😂

 

'Not much different to Wembley' is one of the most ridiculous statement's i've seen on here!!!

20 minute walk! Not a chance, maybe if your jumping fences but it doesn't just spew you out like that.

I thought the entire point of Oasis booking Knebworth next summer would purely be the nostalgia for 1996+30. You would have to do a fair amount of work for it being accessible.

 

I couldn't exactly say Spurs was the most accessible, mind - half an hour walk from the nearest Tube stop plus infrastructure designed when it was the old White Hart Lane at about half the capacity of the new stadium, so getting the tube back after I saw a football game there 3 years ago was a non-starter. Ended up going back to Euston by taking a bus and then the Northern Line in order to go the long way round.

 

But then tbf what do I know? I live near Milton Keynes and getting out after gigs at MK Bowl is well documented as tricky at best.

I strongly dislike leaving Spurs. The stadium itself is grand. The public transportation afterwards requires... significant legwork.

Not specific to 2027 per se but is there any particular reason why AC/DC have never headlined? I'd have thought they'd be quite high on the wishlist but they rarely ever get considered/talked about.

There's been endless discussion about it on here over the years.  Probably just a money thing, made even more difficult by how infrequently they tour.

In a few weeks from now, they're releasing a concert movie filmed in Mexico on their last tour. Maybe there will be interviews around then giving us an indication as to what they're thinking.

Had been suggesting he might go again in 2026, but think Fender probably takes next year off, cracks record four and comes back again in 2027 with the G.

 

My wish for Lady Gaga feels like it's slipping though. Unless she does a limited festival engagement in 2027, think she may be off the road though.

 

Gradually inclined to think that, if she has 2026 on the backburner, Chappell Roan will be... very well placed for this.

Btw, Capaldi would have been higher on his last full set if this festival took him seriously as a future headliner. He was already huge at that point.

If Depeche are following the same cycle as before COVID then 2027 an album will be out and tour.

 

Basically Jonathan their manager tells them it's time to get back together and do something.

 

Martin writes the songs and it's a quick turnaround. In early/mid 2022 they got the ball rolling with recording but I think they had booked shows before that. Then October 2022, a tour announcement/album announcement. So late 2026 there will be a tour/album announcement if they follow the same cycle as before COVID. 

 

But Dave is not that keen anymore. He was fed up after 2017/2018.

Coincides with them doing bigger shows and less dates perhaps. 

 

Must say, he doesn't give the impression of being fed up on stage. Whenever he peacocks for the intro to Everything Counts, he looks absolutely delighted.
