Words "Tyla" and "coming" are opposites. She cancelled shows on about 80% of all festivals she was announced for, regardless of their size or location. Sziget probably decided to find some backup plan.

Either that or they are saving her for phase 2

He is European exclusive. I wonder what happened with that video where they had asap rocky(?) blurred out.

It is still up on their tiktok site. I am starting to think it was just a hype up thing. Asap rocky would make sense, because he was on the 2020 announcement. But I still think we won’t get either of them.

I wouldn’t mind Asap Rocky…

Not touring, and the video was probably something random and didn't have anything with the actual lineup

I would love Hozier, The Kooks, Sammy Virji, Wallows, Royel Otis (again) and Amyl and the Sniffers from R&L lineup

Could Fat Boy Slim join the lineup? He has dates in the UK up intil beginning of August.

Would he be a headliner? Surely not. Sub I guess.

The reason it occoured to me is that he is also doing a pretty big screen show. Could be good for the new stage if there is indeed an upgrade.

I got multiple friends who wrote me that they’d like to join me this year after todays announcement. They’re all between ages 28 - 35 so not like very young. All these people have been to the festival before at least once during past 10 years tho, so they know the vibe which helps a bit.

I don’t think they’re gonna struggle selling this, will be probably slightly more than last year in terms crowd size.
But yeah it’s going to be hard to swallow line up for those who have been going for years.

Honestly sziget is better off without Fatboy Slim. Saw him last year and the show was truly awful.

but then again.. given the direction sziget is heading in, maybe it would work.

To be honest, it's a good announcement. When you have 2 of the 3 Primavera Headliners, it can't be that bad. Unfortunately, nothing for me, but that's a matter of personal taste... Can see that this line up attracts people.

Agree the headliner announcement is very good but if the festival is becoming significantly more EDM-focused then they needed to make people aware of this before they start selling tickets to them.

If the intention is to still deliver live music, alongside digital stuff, then your first announcement should reflect that. This announcement didn't particularly.

I get that if they're going to announce new stages and experiences that are digitally focused, they need to have some digital acts signed-up but this announcement will have come as a shock to a lot of people who don't frequent this forum. And the festival hasn't reassured them in any way that live music will still have its place at the festival.

You can't get much less EDM and digitally focused than Papa Roach. 😄

Comparing 2024 and 2025 initial announcements.

Even the quality of the design has gone down hill significantly!

They've gone EDM with good headliners and then just thrown other genres in unsupported.

Papa Roach - Nu metal (only one)

Blossoms - popular UK indie pop (only one)

Kneecap - rap/hip hop (only one)

Palaye Royale - art/glam rock (only one).

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
