Do you guys realise we have headliners for only two days, matbe one Party arena headliner and a couple sub and one or two Revolut names so far??

I agree it’s not a particularly strong announcement, but it is a VERY small announcement compared to the full line up.

Your problem is people will be going by this announcement to buy tickets.

They will go elsewhere.

I’m putting big money on Post being announced before Christmas alongside with some other stronger undercards.

There is no way they think they get Christmas sales with this lineup alone.

I love your optimism, but I recall posts along those lines after last year’s announcement.

Is Post Malone going to sell big tickets?

He headlined in 2019 but he had Ed Sheeren, Foo Fighters, Florence and Garrix.

Post was one of the weaker headliners.

That leak has me very interested. How much do you usually pay for accommodation for this fest

Lots of different accommodation for different prices, based on location, quality etc. The more of you staying the cheaper it is.

For 2 people you'll get something decent for around £550. For 4 people, £800 should be okay. All for 7 nights.

I know this is only the first lineup, and Charli and Chappell are good additions, but this seems poor. No "big" names, and a lot of electronic acts.

I know Charli and Chappell draw a decent crowd, and Anyma is a great show if they can accommodate the visuals, but as a main stage headliner for Sziget?

I know people keep saying "this is only the first announcement" but the first announcement is where you put your marker down, with at least one big name to get people interested. People choose their festivals now, not in 2 months time. I know certain artists have certain time frames, but this all goes into the planning.

It's disappointing as I really wanted to get excited for Sziget next year after skipping this year.

oh my god it was Nelly Furtado with the special link to football

Damn it you are right. I wanted to find out how the post box is her. Also she might have been the ‘not really a rapper’ clue as she’s leaning towards hip hop.

what if they're trolling us

Definitely not. This is clearly the line up- aligns with acts touring and rumours or confirmations for other festivals.

this line up is pretty tragic . It’s 10x worse than last year which was considered an unsuccessful year. For everyone saying it’s just the first line up, this happened last year and the line up never really got stronger from there. Sure, some new names and ‘headliners’ came along, but it was more of co-headliners as none of them could stand alone headline.

If is true Chappell and Charlie will co, that’s interesting. Seems like Anyma (???) is a headliner and Armin as well (?), maybe Justice also a co-headliner (?). So we could be looking at 4 from 8 or 9 co headliners in this announcement . That’s just the to put things into a realistic perspective . Sziget has clearly taken a new direction, it breaks my heart- I love this festival and I love what it used to be - but if this is the announcement - it won’t get stronger than this. This is a sign of the level to expect from now on .

I don't think Charli and Chappell will be on the same day, they both are headlining primavera on two separate days (and primavera sold out)

The only reason we thought they were on the same day is because of the way they wrote the post. They put an and between them but then they followed the list separating the rest by commas.

I guess it could be just because that’s where the headliners end… will see.

They are just listing the headliners.

They are both strong names standalone.

Remember the festival is now only 6 days and no longer 7.

we can expect 3 more headliner names and a few more co/sub headliner in a future announcement.

I would expect these to be solo or electronic artists

Well, if Chappell is also playing Flow festival in Helsinki then she would be only available for the last day of Sziget. And if Charli is doing the same run of festivals then she could also only play the last day so it’s not entirely crazy idea.

You would assume that increasing the number of EDM acts (DJs essentially) in such a significant way is a money saving act, but putting Chappell and Charli on the same day would fly against that completely.

usely there is a strong sub or co-head on the edm headliner days, so we will get it for anyma i guess.

and as for the co-heads - when they want someone that can on play a specific day, they still take them. look at foo ->21 pilots day or shawn mandez playing early a few years back.

What I've struggled to comprehend overnight is, why offer up this list of acts on the Wishmachine and then present us with the undercard they're going to do this morning?

It genuinely feels almost fraudulent.

I think fraudulent is pushing it, but it certainly feels disingenuous.

My bet is that it was only a randomly picked list of acts with the most ‘votes’ from previous wish machines. Either that, or we were scammed.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
