Wish me luck … with competition and diet

is that one nice? Going to try to hunt some down tomorrow. Got my dark chocolate ones on the way from the online shop. Can't work out whether I'll like these ones or not

I did get a can of a new Apple and Pear flavour Brothers (7%) in Morrisons yesterday which is an intriguing new flavour, but one that may have to wait til the weekend at such a high percentage!

I really didn't want any more chocolate in the house as we still have loads left after Easter, but needs must when you are currently ticketless/without a volunteer spot.

I might actually get a few of these to try, then pass the chocolate on to a homeless shelter or something as I'm not eating enough of it currently. At this point I would probably coach it but not volunteer.

Not tried it yet will probably wait for low blood sugars so I’m only eating it when kind of necessary

I've got to be honest, I'm not drinking all the ciders I've used for the competition, especially as I have another pack on the way from the prizes!

I'm going to seek some of this out at the weekend too, got to be in it to win it! Not really a fan of their cider/perry though, prefer the farm type stuff -  what's the least worst flavour, i'm guessing Festival Apple?

drunk a couple of them on sunday ... I think so as it's a decent % at 7 .... not tried the new flavour but they are low alcohol most of the others around 3.4 % I think

The festival apple is the one they've been serving on site at Glastonbury the last couple of years. I actually really like it, it wasn't part of the competition last year so I was pleased to see it is this time. Haven't seen it in any shops though, I ordered from the site

Festival apple is the lower percent one that's at the festival, 4.5 I think and in slightly smaller cans. Guessing you came across the bigger can ones at 7%?

I wouldn't be able to manage many 7% cans these days, don't drink much these days so can't handle it as well as I used to. Barely drink that much when i'm at the festival, particularly if it's very hot - makes me super tired.

I can somehow manage incredible amounts of that festival apple (the weaker one) on tap at the festival, no hangovers! Perhaps because it's so fresh having been brewed especially for Glastonbury just down the road

Maybe they put less preservative chemicals in it as they know it won't be around long.

There are so many myths around hangovers. The biggest being mixing of drinks increases your chances of a hangover. It’s not the mixing it’s the amount.

The only sure way to avoid a hangover is to not drink

Yes pal but thanks for the suggestion. I would buy the brother's and try but I'm not drinking alcohol and fairly sure you can't just scan an outside code lol

used to be able when codes were on the bottle exterior , now its under the ring pull on the cans so impossible ...not that id encourage it was a pain when worthy cheddar had codes that could be used on the labels when peeled back a fair few got used prior to purchase ... although coop  did credit me in the end .

Yeah those days of the brothers were okay but it starts to look obvious as you pick up 4 or 5 different bottles and scanning lol.

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
