1) No - but that’s not my point.  Some might.

2) No. but did they say “go set alight to someone in this specific group”?

3)  well I dunno what to say about that.  Massacring civilians at a music festival feels a bit terroristy to me!

Not just some people don't see them as terrorist, a selection of western nations and allies have designated them a terrorist organisation.

Massacring 10’s of thousands of innocent civilians, including children and hospital patients feels very terroristy to me.

Hamas are actually a government. According to the current definition of terrorism I don’t think governments can be designated as a terrorist organisation. I may well be wrong though

that's different to wish I'd joined the IRA...but maybe he did.

Mandela was a terrorist at some point and everyone loved him....so...

Mandela (and ANC) were designated terrorists by some states, goes back to my earlier point. Freedom fighter or terrorist depends where you are standing.

I think you'll find that some of the same Tory that currently houses Kneecap-botherer Mark Francois spent a good chunk of the 80s calling for him to be shot or hanged.

Shane MacGowan  said he regretted not joining the IRA, should he have been cancelled too?

I didn’t say kneecap should, just that I wouldn’t object if they were.

but my point was about false equivalence.  Had the Pogues been booked to play Glastonbury and the IRA had a history of targetting music festivals then possibly.  I’m no expert on the troubles, but they typically didn’t target unaffiliated civilians (I may be wrong and this isn’t any kind of statement of support)

In any other context I have to say “I don’t know” and you’d also have to clarify cancelled from what.

Yeah but if Hamas are a government they might become the bad guys.

and I don’t disagree with that (I said ordinary people are suffering at the hands of people in power), but it is also not an important point to what I was saying - they endorsed an organisation which orchestrated 7/10.  That makes the possibility of them being removed from a festival lineup fairly understandable.

… unless the argument is that several wrongs make a right.

Most of those attacked / killed at The Nova Festival would have been Israeli Military Reservists, wouldn’t they?……..

So do you believe that kneecap wanted their audience to go off and kill their MPs?

Regarding the angry environment. I’ve been to a few angry Prodigy gigs. Do you think they wanted to start fires?

Some people don’t see Hamas as a terrorist organisation.

Maybe Glastonbury needs to cancel Prodigy too, we would not want people to feel as though they need to Smack my bitch up?!

Nirvana Rape Me and NIN 'Closer' are probably more controversial than saying the only good Tory is a dead one.

They said in their statement yesterday they didn’t support Hamas. Are you saying they are lying?

Given military service is mandatory, and they are reservists until 40, most would likely have been current or reservist members of the IDF. Not that that in any way condones or excuses their killing.

So...Hamas are like Nelson Mandela?

Every day is a school day on here.

You may think this is absurd, but that is due to the passage of time. The ANC and Hamas are both resistance movements against apartheid and oppression whose methods include violence and killing. Resorting to violence generally followed the failure or violent repression of civil and peaceful resistance.

Also interesting to know that Mandela was a big supporter of the Palestinian cause recognising the similarity of their struggle. This endures today and is instructive in the reasons that South Africa brought the case against Israel at the ICJ

Which of their conflicting statements are we supposed to believe?
