Like Spiritbox?

Spiritbox are a proper buzz band who Live Nation will be looking at as a big money maker in the near future. Them playing R&L was well out of place and they were by far the heaviest band on the entire lineup all weekend.

Papa Roach don’t have that buzz.

There was an awful lot of people in rock and metal merch all weekend at Leeds and Spiritbox drew a decent crowd but they stood out like a sore thumb even on the rock day.

was very strange but awesome walking around on the Friday of reading and seeing people wearing BMTH, FFDP, Enter Shikari and Rammstein merch

Yeah that’s fair but R&L might just think they’re selling dates well and it’ll get people through the door. Especially if they did happen to get Linkin Park (I still can’t see it but you never know, if not Download it has to be BST or R&L for the money and it does seem like they’re chasing the cash).

No but I'd like to be going for Roach but having Deftones is a no go for me, they aren't for me past about 1 song at all. I wouldn't see how they match up to book.

You don’t see how Papa Roach likely doing Infest wouldn’t match up with Deftones? A band who’s three albums around that time were Adrenaline, Around The Fur and White Pony?

Who would you want to see headline above P Roach?

No I don't see how a band like Papa Roach that don't nothing like Detfones with albums sounding much different would match up. One is a metal alternative and one's a rock band.

I would have have had them play with an ADTR or below Limp Bizkit on their day for example.

I’d like to think Deftones wouldn’t pick someone as sh*t as Papa Roach to support them, anyway.

Well I'm not sure what you're argument is then lol because you don't agree with it as a match for your own reasons. You're actually just trying not to disagree and write lol.

Deftones being notoriously sh*t live trying to follow Papa Roach who are always great would be quite funny.

To be honest exactly that.

ADTR aren't big enough to headline Gunnersbury Park and are doing Slam Dunk anyway. Limp Bizkit did it last year.

They are quite erratic though we're better last 2 times I saw them them than the previous 2.

I go back and forth on whether both Deftones and Papa Roach are even good live now, seen awful and great performances from both in recent years but all on vids/streams. Seriously need Deftones to stop dossing about and tour properly here next year for a change.

Yes but the question was who would I see them under as options. I wouldn't completely say ADTR aren't. They are headlining Slam Dunk, the same band then went on to sub Download. Just happens Slam Dunk went for nostalgia again with YM@6 at Slam Dunk on very much far from their best year.

Don't like Papa Roach to be honest, but i did see them at a festival a while back and they're bloody great live. At least a hundred times better than i thought they'd be. Sometimes a band are just made for the live environment and not for albums

Seen both Papa Roach and Deftones in the last two years. First time seeing Deftones properly and loved them. Papa Roach are great live, always have been and still are.

Yeah I'm not sure how anyone can critique Papa Roach especially from a live angle from the rock scene as a fan but obviously they can even if they think they are metal. I last saw them headline the lockup at Leeds after Pendulum in radio 1 2018 and it was mental.

One of the best front men around for me today.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
