People don’t play Glasto for the money.

They're an American band so the sentimental reasons for playing it will have much less impact on whether they play it or not. Glasto simply cannot afford Green Day - it'd have happened by now if they could. Otherwise they'd have took a low fee to play "Donnington" if they were being sentimental - which they didn't.

Another one to tick off the list I suppose.

I don't see them caring for a tiny fee.

I think they'll be back at Download before they play Glastonbury.

I'd agree on that, they just need to book more of the bill consistent with that trend. If you boom a day like Friday then you need to booked something similar or connected at least consistently over the weekend to sell. That might mean completely different top end that they are used to.

Off to Wembley tonight now with a very very late tickrt purchase that I couldn't afford to turn down. The seat I got for the price someone let it go for was mad. Whole they will play Download next year, I'm sat down here or even stood up I've got a great view.

Thanks. Section 124 so at the very top range of standard seating.

I’m very intrigued to know how JPEGMAFIA goes down. Give us an update? One of my mates is going today and she’s not a fan so I’m interested to hear a second opinion!

Honestly I probably won't be in there by the time they start. I'm also not a Spirit Box fan so may not be in there until 7:45pm ish. It was as I say very late, having been out late last night and had a run today in the wind which was really fun lol, I'm having some down time before going.

Interestingly, I spoke to a friend at oasis last night that also said on paper the Download day just hits! But said in person, it didn't hit as you would hope, he also said he thought Weezer were a bit boring and it just didn't go as it should have. I was 5 rows from the from the front for Weezer and I agreed. It was the right run at the wrong festival which is the case with Download sometimes unfortunately. Weezer just didn't work at all. He also said he enjoyed Jimmy as I did but that wasn't loads better. This person is more open than me for music wise though with Download, I wouldn't say he's open to as much different music as me....I'm fact he's not but he's definitely into more heavier and lighter rock than I am.

Any chances of MCR? Or would that absolutely not be a hit to the general Download crowd?

MCR would be the biggest booking they could make and they would get a hero’s welcome. Those two Wembley shows count them out almost certainly, though. 2027 could be a shout but I expect R&L to go in for them too.

To add on to the SOAD talk, entered the queue for the July 15 show at 11:45 and have just seen that I'm 8400 in the queue, lol i ain't getting this ticket, they should've done Wembley

You will get a ticket. I entered at 33k and 24k, I will get one if I want to sit in the gods at the back or something. I think they've done it this way to avoid festivals where they don't need to be. They don't like each other, it's a money spinner

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
