Besides President it looks like the other secret set is on the Avalanche on Sunday, gap between 13:50 - 15:50.

Yup, I noticed that.

Currently it looks like going by previous gaps etc, Rise Against have 50 minutes, JEW have 1hr and Weezer 1hr at the very max, maybe even only 55 minutes leaving Green Day 55 minutes setup time which would be less than both FOB and QOTSA but equivalent to A7X last year.

Also seems to work out I can get a run on Saturday of Palaye Royale, Smash into Pieces, Twin Atlantic, The Darkness and Sex Pistols with an early leave to beat some traffic. Sunday of AAF, Dead Poet Society then Bullet but that is terrible compared to Sundays run last year even if A7X are past it meaning I likely won't bother for just those 3 bands. So looking out for Friday and Saturday ticket with parking at East Mids Airport.

I've gone through all the times and updated every act (except the RIP Courtyard stage as no times for that) based on the Download app/website - https://clashfinder.com/s/download2025/

Avalanche on the Sunday looks like the only space for an Arena secret set.

Saturday The Opus stage starts a bit later than the others which leaves space for another band.

The Saturday and Sunday in The Den (weekend campers only) at midnight both days there's room for a secret (usually acoustic) set that's announced during the day. Will be a band that has played during the day.

I've a few set time observations.

Firstly, why are COF on so early compared to the other 4th Stage headliners? Maybe they want more eyes on Sleep Token, maybe it's a secret set?

Speaking of secret sets, looks like we've two in the arena this year. First on the 2nd Stage on Saturday and mid afternoon on the 4th Stage on Sunday. I think Turnstile are one, maybe Trivium as the other? What do I know, I'm always wrong!

They've done an alright job with clashes this year.

Broco vs EODM vs Twin Atlantic is straight up painful for me 😂

If there are two secret sets then I suspect the sub headliner sized band is on the Sunday. Fits more with what they did with Parkway Drive last year. Also expecting everyone to pile in for an opening session secret set is a stupid idea when the queues take as long as they do

Really good clash-wise. Only slight overlap is Meshuggah and Jerry Cantrell. My weekend looks like this:

Unpeople > CKY > Boston Manor > Graphic Nature > Jimmy Eat World > Weezer > Green Day

Static Dress > Loathe > Hatebreed > Poppy > Don Broco > The Darkness > Sex Pistols > Sleep Token

Bleed From Within > Power Trip > The Ghost Inside > Meshuggah > Jerry Cantrell > Spiritbox > Lorna Shore > Bullet For My Valentine > KoRn

Some decisions to be made yet but I’m looking like:

Boston Manor > Rise Against > Jimmy Eat World > Weezer > McFly > Green Day

Static Dress > Loathe > Poppy > Palaye Royale > Don Broco > Shinedown > Sex Pistols > Cradle Of Filth > Sleep Token

Seven Hours After Violet > Power Trip > Jinjer > House Of Protection > Jerry Cantrell > Spiritbox > Bullet For My Valentine > Kids In Glass Houses > Korn

So far looking like:

Wednesday: Likely just be at camp until the evening, probably go see Lucha Britannia x Slay Duggee

Thursday: Will definitely go see The Scratch in the Doghouse. Might go see Battlesnake in the Den over lunch. Vengaboys into Hang The DJs will be a great night

Friday: (maybe The Scratch and Unpeople, will decide on the day) Boston Manor - Rise Against - Jimmy Eat World - Weezer - Green Day. Funeral for a Friend acoustic in Doghouse afterward.

Saturday: Loathe - Split Chain - Poppy - Polaris - Don Broco - The Darkness - Sleep Token. Modestep DJ set if I can stay awake.

Sunday: Secret Set? - House of Protection - President (maybe) - Spiritbox - BFMV - Korn

So secret set opening Opus on the Saturday, anybody else worked out gaps where there could be others?

No guarantee of this as the stage has occasionally opened later than other stages in previous years. Sunday Avalanche is the only real possibility at this point

The Friday top 4 really is one of the best runs I've seen at any festival over my time, let alone just this year at Download.

That’s cool, different strokes.

Yeah, even Download goers on here didn't believe A7X should have topped it again after last time and said they were rubbish. Bowling for Soup are okay but they are on their 2 and 3rd come back after fairwell tours now as a novelty band.

Again, agree to disagree. My group all loved A7X and whatever people say about BFS, I still find them a reliably good time. Never gonna please everyone but again Sunday last year for me was one of the best main stage runs I’d ever seen.

And naturally yes you're entitled to that view.

That's Friday purchased from twickets. Managed to get someone to accept a reasonable offer that I couldn't refuse less than 3 weeks out now. Saturday will come down to a very cheap option if it happens. Not greatly taken by Twin Atlantics latest setlist at Slam Dunk and expect it to be the same pretty much next month.

I saw Twin Atlantic at Slam Dunk, it was a very good throwback. Narrows it down to either Broco of EODM now at Download for me.

Yeah friends of mine went, I was only interested in Free, Make a Beast of Myself and Heart and Soul really. And that last one isn't a major one. The rest are kind of why I haven't bothered with them after Free. I liked Vivarium and Free. And Heart and Soul from Great Divide but that's it.

So apparently the official download spotify playlist added 2 bands yesterday that are said to be the secret sets, but got quickly removed. Anyone know who it was? Not allowed to talk about it on their forum, posts have been removed.

    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
