Camping Plus also has the remainder of green which Eco didn't have last year (I was camped in green in between the two), it's quite a large area pretty much round to the top of the big hill

Article on NME states that 44% of people going this year are attending for the first time. 

 

Has to be a good thing that the festival is attracting new fans.  But doesn't say what overall sales are like and how many aren't returning.

Out of the four of us two are first timers. Both fancy a change from R&L. The lineup is bit of a throwback to what you’d get at R&L maybe 15 years ago which I think appeals.

Okay, hear me out…

McFly are playing on the Friday night, right? And here’s where it gets interesting they’re about to kick off their Busted vs McFly tou.r Busted are playing just down the road (well, about an hour and a half away) at Delamere Forest on Saturday night.

How amazing would it be if, at the end of McFly’s set, Busted showed up on stage for a surprise appearance to promote the tour?

I wouldn’t put it past Andy Copping to do this.

Many new attendees this year wouldn't be a surprise at all but I doubt it's been a massive selling year at all. It's the only gig in England, at least on main land I think Green Day would do where they haven't told out their tickets yet for the day on quite easily not only the strongest day this year but one of the strongest band wise at least ever. But even I can see how me saying that would not account for a hell of a lot of previous years attendees. Even a regular attendee for the festival on here doesn't rate it but that will happen and that's not a dig or anything at them. It's a matter of taste.
